    Re: Bosch dishwasher recall fire

My assumption is that the appliance was a used / refurbished appliance.

Not your problem… We are now 4 yrs on from the sale date. My presumption again is that the machine is not under warranty by you and therefore you have as far as I am aware, no obligation to follow any requests for compensation.

If I were in your shoes, I would ask if your expenses will be covered for you to attend and if so, I would go, just for the lessons that can be learnt. But, to release yourself of any suggested admission of liability, I would state the reason you are attending.

The problem is alike to: I sold someone a newspaper last year and it combusted yesterday for no apparent reason. What is your responsibility as the seller… None.

The issue will be of concern to Bosch as, if it is a manufacturing defect that has caused the fire then they do have a responsibility.

To call out an engineer will cost you between £50 and £85, so £70 is not a bad price… Nevertheless, the problem you have could have one or more of many sources and it is not worth guessing at:

    Power loss
    Power shortage
    Wiring issue
    Mains suppressor
    Power switch
    PCB
    Interlock
    Motor issue

and that is not a full list

So I suggest either call Beko out or CALL AN ENGINEER

    Re: hja8362 dishwasher fault

Is it heating the water to the point of getting warm or hot

    If warm the thermostat
If hot then wash motor or PCB

Basic really, Thermistor faulty causes the heater to over-heat, in turn causing the cut-out to go open-circuit

The part number for the door is 00299833 and is arount the £100 mark… The door is held in by 2 plastic peices that act like a hinge.

The part number for that model and PNC according to AEG should be 1560631002… Not the part number you have.

It is called an aqua control or aquastop. These are common-place now throughout the dishwasher range.
