ParticipantRe: indesit iwdc6105 filters
There normally a filter at the bottom on the right hand side. This is a general filter to catch any foreign objects etc. it doesn’t have filters as a normal dryer would

ParticipantRe: connect rep
Have had no choice but to order a few parts from connect this week as qualtex didn’t have them, their prices seem to be a lot worse than I remember

Personally I could never go back to one of the big companies. Been there and got the t shirt, all about 1st time completion wether you do a good job or not, I’d rather get out of the trade altogether

Can’t remember doing bearings without replacing spider. Although the amount of bearing jobs I do these days has dropped

ParticipantRe: idl500 tripping mains when power on
A cheap meter won’t be much use for this fault. You need someone to use an insulation tester to find out which part is faulty. Usual faults are heater, mains suppressor, motor etc

Possibly a chaffed wire in the door loom

Very rare for a door lock to cause this.

ParticipantRe: Duel fuel cooker repairs
What I’m saying lee is that if a gas problem arises and you’ve had that cooker out its going to put you in a compromising position. I used to do gas with HOTPOINT many years ago when only the company had to be registered

Surely the last gas engineer can’t be responsible if someone looks at it after him?

NationalAppCare wrote:Hi, this is Ade from NAC.
Andy Jone’s post saddens me as he has cost his business money by firstly being unavailable (i.e Only having an unattended landline number advertised ANYWHERE) but secondly, and more importantly, simply not returning a call.
As andy has come here, I’ll disclose that the call was a simple £45 + VAT (If registered) Inspection report. Same day BACS Payment.
Since then, not only has that report been attended and paid for, others have been passed & paid for that he could have had in the EX Postcode Area.
Could I please offer a suggestion to any readers? That suggestion is simple… Suck it n see.
Also, if any Engineer has been ‘ripped off’ by NAC, please speak up now…
The silence will be deadly. As we cannot and do not operate in that way.
Kind Regards,
Ade

All I can say to you’re post is that having been caught our before ( not by you’re company I hasten to add ) I felt at the time I didn’t want to take any chances, having read some other replies on here it seems I may have been mistaken.

I’ve completely stopped doing anything where there is a gas hob even if it can be done without taking the cooker out, just not worth the risk
