    Re: WMH148DF Tripping on spin

May be worth sticking a new set of brushes in and cleaning the armature, possibly arcing and causing it to trip

Brings back fond memories. Love these machines, as said almost certainly clutch is worn, also have a look at the bellows seal at the top of the gearbox support tube for signs of leaking. Won’t cause a spin problem as such but may tell you what sort of condition the power unit is in

He has the stance you should adopt.

There are plenty of people who can replace you. You should act the same way, you dont provide a service for his business to profit and there are plenty of landlords needing good engineers.

I agree but sometimes it’s hard to just have you’re business head on when you’re just trying to help someone out
Some of these you just have to put down as bad experiences and move on

Personally I don’t appreciate being labelled a dodgy repair man when some of us are giving up some of our precious home time to try and give advise only to get it thrown back

Yep that high temp sealant is worth it’s weight in gold. Got me loads of brownie points over the years

Option 6. Call in a local engineer that should be able to sort it quickly

I’ve just this second had a similar thing. A letting agent call me out to a dishwasher integrated I may add that had failed a pat test. I call out a couple weeks ago, strip the appliance and find out it’s the suppressor, order one up after agreeing a price, go back last week fit the part on which is now safe only to find out that the appliance hasn’t worked for months prior to the test. I find a problem with the board and email them with the bad news, I only charged a very small fee (£20)
Have the LL on the phone this morning ranting and raving why the original quote hadn’t worked, I tell him I wasn’t told about it not not having worked for ages but he’s having none of it and he slammed the phone on me
    Don’t need customers like these

I try not too also. Biggest problem I find is the 3a fuse blows when a lamp goes but the plug is behind the chimney. Nightmare

You’ve just hit my biggest hate right on the head. Riles the hell out of me, and even the general public will now source parts cheaper and sometimes quicker and expect us to be happy that they’ve saved us the trouble of getting parts. Surely they’re not all naive enough to think that we don’t make a small profit on the spares

Same here, am convinced some of the call I’ve done in the past have been too easy
But so long as we do it right there can’t be anything to worry about……. Can there ??
