It’s worth taking the outer door off to have a look. Very common for the wires to break. Power off first though

Never forget years ago a customer had a top loader that dropped into a hole in the kitchen and had a hinged worktop to open lid.
Luckily if it ever went wrong he would get it out ( God knows how ) before I called -
