Agreed , depending on what the fridge is worth why not try finding an engineer in your area and get some quotes? This site has a pritty good search. 😉

No the spider is what can best be described as the “drum support”. If you look inside the drum you can see the shape of it inprinted into the back of the inner metal drum. That shape then connects to a shaft that runs out the back through the bearings and out to the belt and pulley. What happens is that with detergent and corrosion causes one,two or even all three “legs” of the spider can snap and let the inner drum move and hit the outer drum causing the tapping noise that you can hear…. HTH
Edit, sorry just to clarify just explaining that i meant by “spider”

Id go and check the heater and mabe the fill rate of the machine. I’ve never heard of being able to re-programme the pcb’s but you never know someone may know better that me.

It could be quite a few different things including concrete weight, bearing spider or it flcoyld be a raised segment within the the motor. Can you upload a YouTube video I could prob tell you from that.

Have you checked to make sure its defo not blocked/pump isn’t duff I’ve noticed they don’t always Humm anymore if they are jammed. If it all checks out ok check if you are getting voltage to the pump. Start from there I would say…

The long and short of it…. with great difficulty. You have to remove pritty much every body pannel and the base. I would advise getting in an engineer. Are you sure it is the heating element as iv also had dry joints on the pcb before .If you really wanna do it yourself then there are loads of posts on the matter.Hope this helps.
