Re: Zanussi ZWF1440W in a spin

Further to my last post I went to the property today to have another look at the machine. Looks like this is going to be one to cut my teeth on in a way.

The customer it appears has never been happy with the machine, even though it’s only 3 years old they have had a new motor under warranty, a new door seal and issues with conditioner not releasing into the drum. She told me they are opting for a new machine.

I’d still like to solve the problem in the hope it will enlighten me a little more to Zanussi and their diagnostics.

During today’s visit I put it into the test mode, what I wasn’t so sure abbout was how long you’re meant to leave the machine in each section of the test before moving the selector on? I tried it today leaving each section of the test for about a minute before moving to the next stage.

I did obtain an error message ‘E32’ which according to the bible is an inconsistency between the electronic pressure switch and anti-boiling pressure switch.

Without wanting to spend any time on the machine without some advice from you all does this sound like a reasonable explaination as to why the machine is doing what it’s doing?

Both before and after the test mode I tried the spin and on cue it set itself to 10 minutes, door locks, pump operates, 6-7 seconds later the 1400 and spin leds go out the pump stops, door opens and the display shows 0.

It’s basically a machine to learn on but would love to zap it for my own pride, plus the customer might be able to pass it on.

No and that is an oversight on my part, thanks. Will venture down tomorrow. Not at home at the moment, the details are in the fault code booklet for this one aren’t they?

Colin, a wiring diagram would be great if you have one to hand.

I was thinking so! Thanks for the confirmation. Is it quite straight forward??

I’m also trying to get the machine to just go into spin mode (this doesn’t have one on the program selector) is there any way of doing this, is there a test mode for this series of machine? I was hoping a service manual would shed light on it

    Colin,

Thanks for the reply, I’ll check, the leak seems to occur after the machine initially fills (after about 10 seconds) could this still be the case?

    Cheers Jim

This one was really getting on my nerves, I was trying to drain the machine after cancelling the program only to find it went into a prewash cycle filling even more!!!

Looks like Connect are out of the part.

    Will keep you all posted.

    Re: Ariston a1636 Washing Machine

Sorry for the late response to the previous posts, fitted the replacement module the other day (EMW reported a fault on it). All looked good until I selected a cycle. The door locked and cycel started – the problem is that it was the wrong cycle, for example after choosing a wash cylce the prewash LED lights and the machine appears to start a prewash cycle.

Cancelling the program stops the machine but then after selecting ‘drain’ it is hit and miss as to whether or not it will drain or go to a prewash or wash program. All very confusing and iritating.

I contacted EMW who requested I sent the control board and module back, this was returned working – infact they kindly changed the control board to give me piece of mind.

Can any of you advice me as to where I need to be looking? Would I be right in thinking when the module carked it it might have taken the program selector with it?

I’m really scratching my head on this one.
