Re: Whirlpool D/W ADG7470/1 Heater kit?

Yep, converts the new type bayonet unreliable and generally cr@p pump chamber heater to the old flow through trusty unit. Fits quite easily and should be more forgiving of a worn motor than the newer bayonet type……which are cr@p!

    Hope that helps!!

Re: baumatic bdw9 dishwasher odd display after door seal lea

I had one of these do a similar thing to this after a stupid person decided to use one of those TV steam cleaning things on it rather than a cloth like everyone else would. Steam got into the door lock slot and behind the control panel then the PCB wouldn’t function. Sprayed loads of WD40 on and around it and heated it up with a hairdrier and it came back to life – albeit temporarily. Also check the door microswitch isn’t shorting so the switch is telling the PCB the door is ‘shut’ when the door is open.
New PCB is your only safe option – price is prohibitive though; and being Baumatic it’s the start of a nightmare anyway.

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

Thanks for the replies. I bought the ebay one as suggested by Dave. It’s coming Monday / Tuesday so that job is finalised.

Ironically, my friend picked up a Hotpoint 9506 this morning….”Still after that button, Steve? This one’s like new!”

    Grrrr…………….. :rolls:

So the mere fact that a business or organisation that is not sanctioned, supported or promoted by UKWhitegoods, the WTA or DASA does not mean they are bad, not worthy or unviable and to publicly demand that any person come here to address a small portion of the trade to justify anything they are doing outside of these forums is a bit out of order.

So to answer the above quote for the hard-of-understanding:-

UKW, DASA and the WTA are the only really prominent bodies for independent engineers in this trade. So surely, if you are trying to get a project this ambitious off the ground, then you would probably want to net as big an audience from these places as is possible; especially if the people in question were the very people you were appealing to to put the plan into action.
Actually, I haven’t demanded anything of anybody; I am just saying what I thought would be forthcoming. As you say, some people don’t need these bodies to function; I am one of them… I happen to show an interest in the trade that employs me; so please do not try to put words in my mouth to cause problems. :rolls:
EEESafe are trying to change the trade for the better; that is to be applauded; but this is a very small and relatively low profit sector that has a finite life if the market continues as it is, so they have their work cut out. So for a bigger fight you need more troops…

    Re: EEE safe email.

I only ask the question on here as it was suggested that Robert Alexander came on the forums to garner support for EEEsafe and generate interest with UKW trade members. It was agreed by Graham that his presence would be beneficial to all.
If I get regular emails telling me the many developments that are going on seemingly apace to regulate this trade, then yeah, I’m going to be interested. So an interested person shares their thoughts with other members; if I didn’t care, then I’d send the email to Trash.
I have made up my mind though….I’ll just keep my thoughts to myself. 😉

I’ve read the posts and now I am satisfied just like you. If that’s how you meant it… 😉

    Re: EEE safe email.

Anyone had the new email on EEEsafe? Or is my inbox the only lucky recipient?
Powering ahead with DASA….. involving housing associations, councils and lobbying the Government….. talking big to everyone else but no word on here.

Involve the trade that will do the work and they might get involved too. And who is Robert Alexander? When is he coming on UKW to explain EEEsafe? If it’s the next big thing, then promote it here.

    Re: Hotpoint 95 series button.

I used to do lots of trade recons and kept some just in case. Some control panels were discoloured and a few had missing buttons when the panels were cracked. Also the white ones used to yellow for a pastime…..
    Can’t believe I don’t have even one left….. :rolls:

Customer finally got back – and it seems that when he pushes the door it restarts….. 😯

So is the sensor in the door the faulty part or the latch unit on top of the machine?

Thanks for the help so far, guys; much appreciated!!

    Cheers,

ELE4117 on Connect – temporarily out of stock. It’s an EGO regulator so shouldn’t be too hard to find; EGO type:- EGO 50.57021.010.

Try searching this machine’s Belling variant – IDW450…..
Chinese clone of an Indesit; so look in that general direction too.

    Re: AEG dishwasher heating problem

Got to be either the heating element itself (tube type hidden at the back right corner of the machine) or possibly a dry joint on the PCB under the heater relay….common problem. Re solder it and away you go.
I have seen a few with melted heater relays and also be mindful that there are some dishwashers from the ‘Lux family of brands that are subject to a recall for such a problem. Pretty sure that info is on the Help pages of this site. Or Search it up. 😉

Sounds like the thermostop has jammed in the timer or the module is faulty. Talk to EMW (01159) 652118 as they do the Servis timer and the matching module.
