It’s a White Knight drier under the skin, so easy to fix and cheap parts. It probably has something in the fan chamber (remove back lower panel and motor then the cover for the chamber turns and comes off). The rest is straightforward drier stuff really…… 😉

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

Yes Tim; checked everything – heater, motor and the complete machine for earth faults – all OK. All wiring looks fine; took out the PCB and refitted the connections, checked the solder joints…..so it’s got to be the PCB then.

£205 retail from BSH……..don’t think I’ll get that job TBH…. :rolls:

    Thanks,

    Steve.

Re: Candy CNW136T Dryer heater on when spinning?

Probably the drier heater relay sticking or a faulty triac on the module. Either way, the board is not too expensive so should be a viable repair.

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

    Re: Hoover OPH714D module.

Thanks for that Tim – but the customer decided that the price I quoted for the module was “way over the top” as he had rung Hoover direct and could get that module for £26 from them but could I fit it when it arrived?
So when it arrived at £26 he phoned me and it was (as I’d expected) the control panel PCB. “Sorry, I don’t fit customer’s own modules as I cannot guarantee them to be coded, new, e’bay, or the even correct item…as you have now discovered…sir. The bill for £30 diagnostic fee is on it’s way….. Good day to you!!” 😀

    Complete ‘merchant banker’….. :rolls:

Drier element earth fault – temporarily disconnect it and try to start a cycle. If it works OK, new element required.
Ironically, it’s the customers that use the drier the least or not at all that have this fault.

Re: Hotpoint Tumble Dryer – Teardrop Bearing Back panel dama

Agree with Jim – no need to change the back panel with the teardrop bearing. The only one that causes problems now and again is the square bearing version. Had to replace a couple of the riveted on support brackets in the past.
The V4 shaft kit replaces all the bearing and seal components and a new screw on shaft for the early drum; note the later drum has a riveted on shaft that is not replaceable and requires a complete drum assembly.

Re: Prima LPR 601 (Whirpool) dishwasher no circ pump

The wash pump motor fitted to this is the ‘Askoll on steroids’ asynchronous type. They stop and jam if the bearings wear; usually the motor makes a different sound before it fails – common problem. No fault code for wash pump failure AFAIK.

Watch out though, I’ve done a couple of motor changes that have then had the heater unit fail very soon afterwards; or heater unit changes that have had a failing motor…..chicken and egg syndrome. If you change both it’ll be fine; but at least warn the customer of the possibility of the other part failing as it probably will.

    Hope that helps!!

Re: Bosch, Siemens heat pump style dishwashers base leaks

Put a small plastic piece under the vent to deflect the water from the base tray to the side panel area. No leaks at all in the base. Yes!!

Not really comfortable with leaving the deflector in there as the condensate will drip on the door spring below……or just put it back as it was and hope that there is not enough water to cause an E15. Stupid Hobson’s choice but nothing else I can do.
Really not looking forward to yet another heat pump change tomorrow; that’s 3 this week.

Definitely not recommending BSH dishwashers any more.

    Thanks to all that helped!!

Re: Bosch, Siemens heat pump style dishwashers base leaks

    Found the phantom leak!!

Drips out of the bottom oval hole of the airbox directly into a rectangular hole moulded into the back corner part of the base tray. You can’t really see it drip as the distance between the airbox hole and the base is maybe 2mm at most. Filled that base hole with kitchen paper and yes, the paper is soaking but the base is dry!!

    OK, celebrations over….. 😥

Why is the condenser able to drip water down the hole and into the base tray; after 4 washes there was quite a pool at the back of the tray under the machine. It hadn’t tripped the float switch but given time it easily could. The old BSH dishwashers had a breather hose at the side of the machine which never gave any problems. That hose went from the right side of the tub, round a loop and into the base tray. This airbox just has the breather hole open at the bottom of the airbox so the steam condensation is just going to drip continuously into the base on hot cycles.

Basic science 101…..hot air / steam rises, steam expands and pushes into the airbox space, condenses to form water that flows downwards by that thing called gravity. So why not put a big hole in the bottom of the airbox to let that water drip into the base…. I’ve run the machine 4 times on Intensive tonight and every time it has leaked from that hole…OMG… it’s too stupid for words!! Without the paper to catch the drips they will end up in the base tray. 😈

How can you fix this? The airbox is stock and a new one is the same shape with the oval hole at the bottom. Martin kindly tried to help but there was nothing on this I’m afraid. Thanks again Martin, it’s much appreciated!!

Help please, I’ve run out of answers and patience…… 👿

Re: Bosch, Siemens heat pump style dishwashers base leaks

Thanks Martin…so I assume once the sump is unscrewed it can be withdrawn from the machine without disturbing the cabinet to base fixed positions? I might have to try it and see…. machine still has small leak at the corner under the outlet hose (rear left). Yet the paper wrapped around the inlet and outlet hoses is dry……it’s driving me crazy!!!
