Re: Tricity Bendix oven door glass and handles

Have you spoken to your house insurer? Glass oven doors are often covered under accidental damage. As the glass door panel (in green) is around £200, I would be tempted to see if you are covered for such things.
There are 2 types of door handle both supplied as a kit. Date code required to identify the correct part. One is around £35; the other £50. 😉

    Hope that helps,

    Steve.

Re: Tacho coil Hpt WM68 1601617 NLA?

The tacho you need is the small open one with the metal bar across the back. The tacho magnet is the type that is dished both sides and made of a plastic material that splits easily.
This motor was for the 415 control and the tacho is different from the old type that had the adjustable cap with the 2 ‘fingers’ that pressed over the coil.
If all else fails, you can PM me your address and I’ll post you a s / hand coil. 😉

Just under the element is about right – gunge inside that ‘box’ was a common fault. Looks like you’ve cracked it!!!

    It’s a Velo TC2800 – dutch built twin tub. Steel casing, 5 -7KG wash load…..doesn’t look bad actually. 😉
I wonder if we could get some info on these as older folk still love their twin tubs and the chinese rubbish that we often see is a poor substitute.
Google Velo TC2800 and thee shall find……..my son!!

Easy test – pull the tags off and connect them temporarily together and see if it starts to heat. The cut out in the photo (Connect) shows a red spot on the back of the stat between the tags.

One is the temperature ‘stat and the other is a cut out. (red spot). They should both be N/C.

    Re: New World door hinges

Be careful, as once the springs are removed the door assembly is not secured and can just slide out of the oven frame freely. Unhook one side and then firmly hold on to the door and unhook the other. Nearly came a cropper a few years back with one of these……… 😯

546546 or 546547 computer board fitted to this machine – both suffer with motor control issues. Look at http://www.emwelec.co.uk, best way to repair the machine cheaply. And if your diagnosis is wrong, send it back!!
