ParticipantRe: Kuppersbusch Dishwasher PCB
Has it got the usual etched info on the top of the inner door? There is usually the BSH model code in the right hand corner of the etched box.

ParticipantRe: Electrolux EWD1409i washer drier.
Thanks, Baron for the warning – this is turning into a very expensive repair and nothing is in stock. The letting agent is going to love me……… 🙁

ParticipantRe: Electrolux EWD1409i washer drier.
Oh joy!! :rolls:
Thanks Mark for the response. Here’s hoping the facia PCB is OK – it’s for a letting agent who doesn’t understand that parts take time to arrive and that no-one can stock every single spare part, available every day, just in case. 👿Steve.

ParticipantRe: Connect delivery charges
Where did you see that Goose? My minimum order has always been £65 before VAT. I couldn’t find any reference to this increase on the site. £75 means that I may be persuaded to look at alternatives……. 😉

ParticipantRe: Cancellation of Contracts, new regulations!
So would a signature on the bottom of the receipt count as “a satisfied customer”, or do you have to give them a separate document detailing their rights to cancel and hope they read and understand it? Most people would just glance and say OK anyway. A large percentage would question why and when told, a few could see this as a green light to take the p1ss…..
If it is a separate document, then that means it would have to be in duplicate and the copy stored with the invoice. This throws up data protection issues and how long would you have to keep records? Who could possibly police this if a trader or his customer just ‘didn’t bother’?
How the hell did businesses in the UK survive without Labour’s constant interference? Is a business easier to run than before? Are less mistakes made by the departments that impose this garbage?
Of course not. But the only ones accountable for any mistakes will be us – the honest, law abiding majority. 😈Steve.

ParticipantRe: Dishwasher – no power
Could be a burnt out on / off switch; burnt terminal block; or door switch failure. All will need testing. If you have a test meter you can locate, isolate and continuity test all three. Fault finding can be a bit tedious……. 😉
An engineer, on the other hand, can locate and fix the problem quickly. It is well worth the small charge to know for sure. It is quite likely to be easily repairable. The older dishwashers were far, far better made than the modern day offerings – a current dishwasher from Electrolux / Zanussi / Tricity – Bendix or AEG (all from the same stable today) is likely to fail in under 3 years. Such is progress. :rolls:
If at all unsure, click the Repairs @ banner to locate an approved engineer in your area.
If you are going to attempt a repair, Power Off and Unplug before any testing is done. :plug:Hope that helps,
Steve.

ParticipantRe: Cancellation of Contracts, new regulations!
If that is the case, to protect ourselves, it seems that ALL repairs cannot continue until the 7 days expire unless a written agreement is drawn up and signed by the customer. And the customer has to only pay a ‘reasonable amount’ if THEY cancel. 😯 WTF????
So every chavy customer who knows this could use that loophole and cancel before the seven days and only agree to pay £15. Unless you can get them to sign the agreement……..but they will already have your parts fitted which you have no right to reclaim……..:twisted:If only the Consumer Protection lobby were as efficient as they believe they are.
Would the last surviving business in the UK please switch off the lights………..

ParticipantRe: Oven Bench
Motorcycle lift £59.99 + VAT in this month’s Makro mailshot. Maximum weight 135kg – should be ample for a double oven. Available from Wednesday 30th July.
It’s a scissor type with a rubber topped platform and four feet.
I’ve long used a workmate and it’s rarely the right height, but that lift looks like an excellent idea!! Thanks Oldtog! 8)Steve.

ParticipantRe: ISE dishwasher salt setting.
Sounds like I prodded the snoozing bear off the sofa…….. 😆
Actually, I’m quite surprised – Bournemouth and Poole area is only moderately hard water @ 19 Clarke. The ISE is factory set to 3 so no fiddling!! It gets better all the time!! 😀
Looking forward to delivering it!! Thanks for the info.Steve.

ParticipantRe: Time for a rethink.
Lots of people around here reluctantly going on holidays they booked last year but can ill – afford now. Sunny periods usually coincide with slower workloads down here but just as you’re about to consider a second job as a kissogram, the work comes in.
One blessing of the new cr@p machines though – they go wrong regularly – and if the sheds aren’t selling new then the machines in the homes across the land can’t stay busted for long. Hang in there……… 😉Steve.

ParticipantRe: Transit bolts!!
Thanks for the reply, Jim!! I didn’t really want to donate a set of bolts from a new machine as I may not get them back. Anyone got a spare set they could send me?
Thanks,
Steve.
