Re: Where do you draw the line ? Rodents !!!

    There’s been a few…

Worst one I can think of is when I was six months into starting work with Indesit. I was out learning the ropes with our senior engineer when we went to a house in Clay Cross Derby’s.

I can still picture it now. The naked baby crawling around on the chequered kitchen floor, weaving in and out of the shit and piss puddles left by rover. Then we came to the washer which had been ‘faulty’ for at least a week before the lady of the house got around to calling an engineer.
It was piled up on both sides with terry nappies still full of the babies best and half of the contents smeared all over the machine.

The smell was unbelievable, just unbearable. The shit covered machine was just the excuse my mate Dave needed to get us out of the house.

The ‘lady’ of course couldn’t understand and complained about our attitude. 🙂

Require front tub, tub gasket, front concrete weight, screws, spacers, collars and heater.

Got exactly the same, will be phoning tomorrow.

Must admit those bolts are extremly thin…

Wow! I sometimes think I have bad days.

Being a one man band has it’s disadvantages, but one of the few advantages it does have is not putting up with any of that crap! Quite simply I tell the odd customer to ‘try somewhere else’. The shock in thier voice is worth every penny that I’ve just lost in doing so.

It may be a case of biting my nose of to spite my face, but I still manage to pay the mortage and have a decent family life at the same time. The biggest disadvantage is that holidays are few and far between. I can afford the holiday, I can just about afford the total lack of income for a couple of weeks, but there’s no way I can afford the good customers I’ve got going elswhere.

Enjoy your holiday mate, it sounds like you’re not ony due, but that you also deserve it!

I also have a customer who also wants one, he’s in Coventry.

If none available he’ll wait for the new model. Anyone near Coventry who can deal with him either way as I’m in nottingham and it’s just a bit too far for me to travel?

Re: You want to charge me HOW MUCH!

I had a call via Age Concern this morning from an old woman who lives about 10 miles from me. Flatly refused to pay any call out charge for me to come and tell her if her F/fzr was working ok. She said because she’s a pensioner and I’m AC accredited I should do it for free.

    They’re all at 🙁

if no mole grips just bend the inlet hose and cable tie it. In fact I do this for those times when the taps are siezed and I need to disconnect.

    Re: Yellow Pages 2011

Haven’t used them for about 7 years. In fact they have a note on thier system to never bother me again after they ripped me off. (I told them what I’d do to any of thier reps if they ever showed up at my doorstep).

It’s had a small impact, but local advertising and the web has negated that.

Thanks Steve, never even thought about the Amica DW’s.
This one’s gone, but I’ll bear it in mind for next time.

🙁 Shame, they’re over the moon with the ISE10. Will have to try and sell them a Bosch then 🙂
