    Re: chiropractor

I’ve had the pain, tried Physio etc. Didn’t really cure it long term.
However this book was the best £10 I ever spent.

So, according to him the only ‘normal’ people are the ones happy with his product.. the rest are either ‘odd, retarded or complainers’.

Sounds like a great chap! :rolls:

Re: Most valuable find in a pump filter yet?

Long time ago when I worked for Indesh*t I took a slightly bent ring with a large Diamond on it out of a pump. When I showed it to the ‘lady’ She snatched it out of my hand and screamed ‘Jesus f***ing Christ, I’ve just put the £15000 (fifteen thousand) claim in to the Insurance for that’

I got neither a ‘thank you’ nor a tip..

Recentley I got a recall from an Asian chap where I’d replaced his pump. He made pretty damn sure that he wouldn’t be paying anymore money out as I’d only fitted the pump the previous month. I made pretty damn sure that that was fine as long as nothing was trapped in there.
He stood over my shoulder and watched me as I dismantled the pump and took out a very heavy and very long gold chain from the pump.
Once again, no thanks or tip, but he did pay up 😀

    Thanks.

    Hi Rob,
What service provider do you use that is £2.50 per month to divert landline calls to the mobile?

Virgin charge £2;50 per month plus the cost of the call.
My diverted charges come to about £70 per month

I have no trouble in selling/installing Bosch Dishwashers at £550 to £600 a go.
I’m sure if there was a better option out there for not too much extra I wouldn’t have any trouble moving some.

Got there, Candy washing machine upside down on the floor from his attempts at “changing” the door seal. Machine just had suds lock as was VERY soapy, but suspension had come off and smashed filter housing. Put suspension back on, new filter housing and didn’t have to change one of those bloody Candy door seals – happy days.

Matey boy tried to haggle at the end by offering £20 because “I’d only been there 20 minutes”. Trying to explain to him how lucky he was that the PCB wasn’t smashed as well didn’t go down well 😆

And that’s where I would have done a 180 and left.

These jobs are just too much hassle to me, and they often come back with ‘other’ faults that must have been ‘your’ fault as it was alright until ‘you’ fixed it.
I’m not overstretched with work, but I never touch these jobs.

Best recent one I’ve gone to was a little old lady with a zanussi slimline dishwasher. I walked in and ther was literally a pile of parts on the floor and a practiaclly bare cabinet. She’d took it apart to save me some time… bless her

I did one of these where I had to change the tub front last week.

Wasn’t too bad at all tbh. Prob took me just over an hour tops. Next one will be quicker though.

Re: The Green Mile…How Do You Avoid Death by Electrocution

Years ago I was out in Spalding at some strange womans house fixing a washer that was leaking from the pump. It was a quarry tile floor and a very small kitchen, I had no choice but to get down and get wet to sort it out.
The woman watched while I double checked that I had pulled the correct plug out of the socket then started to work on removing the pump whilst lying on a wet floor.
I’d got a hold of the pump and was taking it off when she spoke very loudly that she wanted a cup of tea and went to plug the kettle in. except it wasn’t the kettle was it… it was the friggin washer and I got one of the biggest belts I can recall ever having.

I called her every name under the sun out of anger and fright, but she just stood there with a weird look on her face and just said sorry and walked off.

I swear to this day that she’d done it on purpose. She never complained to my office about my outburst or anything, it was all very strange.

Pinchbeck and Spalding…. I don’t miss those places at all!
