ParticipantRe: ISE 2 and 5 failure rates
I had this with a genuine hotpoint one but the pattern ones seem to have a slightly larger hole.

ParticipantRe: Servis UK (Antonio Merloni) Bust!?
If they sold the appliance and the manufacturer goes bust then I`m afraid they are responsible for the warranty on the appliance.

ParticipantRe: ISE 5 mk 1 motor failures
Jim when I am replacing brushes I fit the new metal brush holder into the old plastic holders(if you know what I mean) and I have only ever had 1 motor failure through burnt out armature and that was way back (and I can`t remember if I swapped holders then). It was just that once when I replaced the whole brushes and spun the motor it sounded dreadful and so I swapped to the old holder and it was much better. I`ve done this ever since.
Could it be that the Hoover brushes are at a slightly different angle to the ISE ones? and therefore causing excessive heat and noise?
