Re: Diplomat APM8703-2 Internal dispenser hoses

Apparently there are ten of these machines in the same block and three have flooded. They are all only a few months old.

If there is a kit I think I might need it!

Re: Diplomat APM8703-2 Internal dispenser hoses

Thanks Mike. There’s so much water I can’t see which bit is leaking.

When I turned the machine on I got hit straight in the face 😯

    Thanks again

    Re: not spinning

There used to be a test procudure printed in the Hotpoint service manuals on the old 95 series machines.

It involved shorting out the triac and using an analogue meter across the live and neutral on the plug top.

The meter would fluctuate when the motor was turned as long as the arm and field wiring was in tact. It didn’t test the tacho and obviously won’t work on the later machines with a thermal door lock.

Re: wf 860 cancel test mode

I’m convinced that these machines are going into test mode due to radio interference.

I have one of these machines in a remote area that suffers from voltage drops and spikes.

The machine had gone into test mode every few weeks over the past year or so.TThe customer is old and unable to sort it themselves. They were ok paying me to pop in and reset it but it got a bit stupid.

Last time I called I suggested that the customer buys a surge protector mains socket (like you use to protect the PC from voltage surges) This was over six months ago and I haven’t been back!

Went there today to continue the search for the fault, armed with all the guff you guys have sent me. The bloody thing worked first time at turn on!

For information, there is a child lock… it entails holding the select button for 6 seconds. 6 seconds again to unlock.

Thanks again for all the help

    Re: hotpoint wd61

A high percentage of the cold water normally flows through the condensor and only a small bit flows through the soap dispenser. The usual problem here is a blocked flushing hose to the condenser. This is the hose that ‘doubles back’ from the dispenser.

You’ve got me thinking now about a child lock. Anybody any ideas on how it is activated/deactivated?

Greg. I thougth that too, however, it is possible (with a bit of contortion) to close the main door with the flap open. This would leave the rotating fan open to little fingers. Hence the reason why I was convinced that there must be a switch somewhere. The two brown wires are confusing me a tad too.

Do you know if there is a diaganostic for this machine?

( can’t find this machine on the Bosch website)

It’s a R4381X1GB/01 Bob, and there is a switch that the bottom access flap operates I believe on that beast. 😉

That would account for why I can’t find it on the bosch site 😳

However, still can’t find the bloody switch 😥

Another possible, make sure that the speed control resistor (if it has one) hasn’t been put on the variable temp position by mistake.

(it’s the back two connectors marked 52 to 57 on the sheet that I sent you)
