First thing to do is to meggar the machine. Bet you have either a trapped wire or an earthy heater…

Last one I had with this error code turned out to be a kinked fill hose!

If the water pressure is too low it fools the flow meter.

    Re: Indesit WD12X boiled up!

I fitted a new heater to a Zanussi machine a few days ago. Had a recall the next day with an error code showing. The thermistor was miles out of calibration!!!

This is the first washing machine thermistor that I have ever known go out of calibration in over 20 years in the trade. If they do fail they usually go short or open circuit.

Is there something going on here?

I’m with Bryan here. It’s a too cut throat business to be able to pick and choose jobs to this degree (IMO).

If I didn’t do the poor quality machines (Indesit, Servis etc) It would halve my workload.

Completed this call yesterday. Couldn’t find anything wrong with the water level control.

Replaced the motor and all is well. Bloody horrible job though!

Smeg Shop is a useful source of information.

Edit… Sorry, This is not much use for washing machines and washer-dryers but is a useful site for Diplomat Dishwashers.

It was a different machine, but the last top loader that I had with this problem, I was able to get some access through the heater oriffice.

It may allow you to get a tool of some discription in to help turn the drum.

If it has clothes in it, you might be able to get the clothes out through the holes under the lifter.

Amazingly I managed to get a whole pair of jeans through the holes 😯

    Re: ERROR CODE LIST

I have produced a printable document showing all Hotpoint/Indesit known error codes. It’s double sided and I have laminated my copy to carry in my tool case.

It needs tidying up a bit. I will re-do it and bring it to Sibson for your appraisal.

Is the diaphram indicator known as an OWI? I assumed the term referred to the optical one used on the all electronic beasts.

OWI is Optical Water Indicator. (the thing at three oclock that you cleaned)

The last one that I had looked fine but was definitely faulty.

The photo on Connect site for 56471200602 looks like the tags are at 90degrees which would foul the heater cover. If it’s the right temperature, I can make it fit though.

Re: Privelig dryer 3005cd (german market)

The stat on the left is the one that is burnt out. It does have some readable information, but I can only make out NC 150C 16A which I presume to be 150 degrees Normally closed and 16 Amp switching. The other stat appears to have the same writing. The left hand stat (the burnt out one) is a cycling stat with a solid body.

The Right hand one is several centimeters further from the element and appears to be a one shot stat. (you can see the convex bi-metalic plate).
