ParticipantSeems to be working fine when tested. Havn’t tested it with a load yet.
Had to extend the wiring to the drain pump and the heating element and the pressure switch for obvious reasons.
Seems to be spinning the correct way helo_75.Will let you know how my hybrid machine gets along with a load as the wf340 had a 1400 spin, the wma was 1200, could be a problem!.

ParticipantSlightly off subject but it was a bit quiet today so I put a reconditioned wma tub into the chasis of of a wf range with a welded tub.
All works ok but the motor is different which is a bit of a concern as I dont want the module to go bang when under load.
Has anyone else done this and have they had any feedback from customers after installation?

ParticipantWent to see a 3 month old hotpoint WMD940 with 8kg drum last week, module blown (no supprise therE then), I was supprised to see it has a splittable tub! Maybe they have come to there senses.

Participantthanks for looking will contact them direct and see if I have any luck.

ParticipantIts nearly always the switch contacts that burn out, the entire wiring loom comes with the thermostats, TOC’s, terminal block etc, time consuming and un- necessary in my opinion.

ParticipantHi simonb,
I have been asked to do this a couple of times on behalf of customers for Currys/ Comet. Have always said no, too much of a liability. Good chance you could be getting involved in a legal dispute between the customer and retailer.boselecta
ParticipantI normally compare my different suppliers for expensive parts.
Sometimes a good idea to try the manufacturers, sometimes the prices can supprise you and beat our suppliers. Shopping around pays.

ParticipantObviously fitting rubbish parts and not going back to recalls is totally wrong but charging £45 for a reconidtioned motor and labour, WOW cheap as chips!.
Don’t worry I don’t think he will be in buisiness too long with that pricing.boselecta
ParticipantSeems very sad to me giving this amount of information away for free, no other trade would do this, I suppose thats why this trade is not valued like others.
To be fair, I honestly think we will loose out from this kind of video promoted by retailers but I think most of us have received enough technical information from the trade forum to be financially in the good.

ParticipantI agree with you ddirect,
In my opinion its a bit much making videos for the general public on appliance repair, basically it would not take too much to make a video for every repair we do including tub jobs. I can only see that benefitting retailers not repairers.boselecta
ParticipantNever considered putting the machine on its head, always taken the motor out.
Had a Bosch machine that I was unable to remove from worktop and managed to change them from the front, taking front pannel off and putting my hands around the tub. Was very awkard but worked ok.

ParticipantCheck the pressure switch and wiring to it, will not do full spin if fault lies there.

A backup image was restored, the last “good” one before the RAID array started to fail from the morning of 09/05/09.

I have no idea what those first two sentances meant. I like to think I have an inquisitive mind but some things I am happy to be ignorant about.
