ParticipantRe: Good reason for not giving away information…
If anyone`s interested , here`s my reason for not posting on the public forums.
For me this is still a safety issue. If a person does not have a meter to check appliance is isolated before carrying out a repair , then it`s dangerous IMO.
eg – Beko cooker needs a fan oven element replaced , advice given that it`s a screwdriver job and access from the rear….and make sure the power is off. DIY`er switches off double pole cooker switch but unfortunately switch is faulty and only isolates neutral. Now the clock on his cooker has gone off , he thinks he`s safe to proceed and he has no other means of testing.
To me it doesn`t matter how unlikely this scenario is , I certainly wouldn`t want to be the professional who told him it was a simple screwdriver job if he touches that live terminal block.
Don`t know if there would be any legal repercussions from the above incident but I certainly wouldn`t want it on my conscience anyway.
If no test meter it simply can`t be safe IMO.
Oh and yes I do pay subs.

Thanks for the reply , I had the dryer running for at least 5 minutes and the valve coil was reading 4.2k ohms from memory.
Think I`ll need to go back and have a look at that module in the front you mentioned and check wiring for continuity.
Cheers

I think it`s 97923551 for the computer board. Masterpart do list that model Chris.

ParticipantRe: Good reason for not giving away information…
Just as a matter of interest has there ever been a reported instance in the public forums of anyone being injured whilst carrying out a DIY repair.
Reading this post makes me think of all sorts of nasty scenarios and I doubt telling them to make sure the power is off will help if the machine falls on them , they pull the wrong plug out of the socket , switch off the wrong switch etc. Suppose we`ve all done that ourselves but we can test before and after we touch anything.
Don`t want this to be taken the wrong way but I certainly wouldn`t want to be the person having given out the advice if someone is injured following a little bit of guidance on the forums.

Thanks Ali-p , that was the advice I was looking for but unfortunately the customer called yesterday to tell me that they`re buying a new machine as I couldn`t really tell them if it was going to be a major or minor repair/expense.
I`ll lock that away for future reference though , Whirlpool F11 – check small lead between timer and user board.

ParticipantRe: Bosch WF02865GB. Spin probs.
Martin posted a very similar fault on a very similar machine last week
http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ic&t=20934We have a Siemens WXL147AGB/18 (again very similar) at home and don`t know if this is significant but my wife reliably informs me that a seperate spin cycle counts down from 6 mins to zero.
Does sound more and more like the module but it`s an expensive gamble to get wrong.

HM595 uses 3040744 or TK14101 from Masterpart for a more sensible price :). Connect list a different part no. for HI595 but it looks like the same element to me 😕 .
Hope that helps.

Masterpart and SEME cover a decent selection of spares for those :D.

ParticipantRe: Bosch spin fault
Excessive arcing at commutator/brushes as motor builds up speed , causing electronics to shut down. I`d have a closer inspection of the motor again.

Never actually worked on one of these Jim but according to my info. it has a 2.7kw base element 😯 and a 1.6kw fan element 8O. I can only assume that both these should come on together for fast heat and one or other of them is the problem. Single grill element so doubt that comes into the equation.
I`d be guessing at the base element because 2.7kw in the bottom of an oven is asking for trouble IMO. Don`t put your hand on the base to see if it`s hot though or you might find out the hard way 😉.

2804860100 according to SEME.
Masterpart seem to change this to 2804860200.

From memory QER will repair this board for £30 , so the situation might still be salvageable :). Might be worth a phone call at least.
