Yes that is a familiar picture to me from several months back, I have not had any problems since they slightly changed the holders.

Wish I was a member of this site back then as it drove me crazy getting recalls for a straight forward fault like this.Did everyone suffer from those brushes failing for no reason?

Cancel above as after much clicking around on Connect website I cross referenced the same door to Candy AQW130 and complete parts listing available for this model. 😀

Very interesting reading because I hate when customers phone with this fault unless obviously a drainage problem.

Out of 20-30 of these repairs a week how many are module faults ❓
After checking drainage, heater, ntc and motor is next consideration module ❓ and then writing them off as 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of customers won`t accept price.

If you can verify quote then I for one may need to pay more attention to drainage problem.

It *was* a broken wire at the heater. It looked fine – but the wire inside the insulation was broken.

Jimbo ,the fault on this machine was as above.

Is an insulation and continuity test and perhaps close inspection of brushes on these motors not good enough to eliminate motor fault ❓

SEME have that pump 51-BS-08 at £4:75 plus vat in stock.

I would get a couple because it`s great price.

Any other suggestions gratefully recieved. Windows XP it is.

    Thanks again Martin 😀

Don`t think I`ve replaced this interlock before but looking at the picture of it I think I`ll order a couple for stock. It just looks like one of them that might fail regularly (hopefully).

    Cheers

I didn`t think you were into football when earlier today you mentioned andicole scoring goals for Blackburn.

Pretty sure he wears the same colours as you (black and white ) and plays for fulham. 🙂

He played for Blackburn a few million quid ago.

    Cheers

I simply hand customer my business card along with the invoice/receipt when job complete. Most seem to keep it in a safe place for future reference.

In my opinion stickers on appliances is a bit too much.

Could it be model no. 48219?

If your customers are anything like mine 9 and 3 can look similar.

Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Had a call yesterday morning from customer asking if I could call sometime in the afternoon as she urgently needs her washing machine repaired. As it was a Hotpoint and no drum rotation I agreed to squeeze her in.Definately at home by 2:30 so any time after.

Arrive at 2:45 no one at home. Waited till 3:00 stuck a card through her door and off to next job.

Back home at 5:00 message on answer machine and to be fair she is very apologetic and we arrange for 9:30am today.

Replaced brushes on motor and present her with bill for £50 telling her I`ve put on £5 for yesterdays inconvenience.Oh I didn`t think you`d charge me for that she says.I respond with wasted journeys don`t pay my wages. She then says adding to the bill won`t get you recommended to my friends.

Anyway she hands me a cheque for £50 and tells me she is going to pack in her job as a SCHOOL TEACHER and train to be washing machine engineer.

I started laughing, wished her luck and left. 😀
