    Re: Whirlpool Oven Wrong Temperatures

Could be a software problem, possibly needs either reprogrammiing with a Sam module or a new programmed board

There is a list of what you can and cant do on the web, You can swap over an oven / hob etc which is fixed wired and there is no other reference to any domestic appliances. 😛 Just make sure you dont get carried away and add another ring circuit or change the fuse board whilst your replacing the door seal on the washer, just to be sure :rolls:

If Jims not already covered it, fact the door switch has changed its possible if fitting the new switch they have got the plug the wrong way or the right way for the old switch but wrong for the new type.
This will take out the board.

Check it out before fitting a new board just in case.

Back in 95, I was approached by a representative of the police federation asking for me to place an add in the police diary. Looking for new business and not wanting to upset the old bill I did. It became apparent very soon that this guy was no more than a hot heeled sales guy.
I got my add and free diaries for the year, probably no business and always felt done that this guy had sold himself as a member of the police force, which he was not. It cost me about £150 I think. Not bad for a lesson in life. Never trust anyone selling over the phone or coming into your premises if they are not there at your request.

Following that I had fireservice, lifeboats, animal welfare every school in the area and they all say they phoned earlier in the year.
You know the call ” Just phoning to let you know your adverts ready” etc.

The last one I got over the phone offering a free listing in an internet directory. This was been taped and I was been tricked into accepting the 5 key search words, fact I kept stating I do not wish to pay for advertising killed her case and off she went, my friend was not so lucky cost him £300 plus vat..

Morale is dont take anything at face value, seen the data protection scam from the data protection enforcement officer. Yeh right. :rolls:

    Re: Oven Bench

I had one of the trolleys when I used to store machines, great for moving and stacking washers in the workshop / store, cant imaging taking to a customers thougth. The aluminium one at 25KG is more like it.
What’s it like to get into a customers home, can an engineer carry it on site? steps into the house etc.

    Re: Oven Bench

I dare say you have and so do many other engineers, but with supplying these to employed engineers, I am looking to source something more suitable.
Yes I have two B&D workbenches which are easier and quicker to cart into the customers home than my oven bench which I descibed earlier, but believe me I wouldnt not use the bench. Its more versatile and made for the job.
So back to my original question: Anyone know where I can get a proper oven bench?
Take that as a NO then :rolls:

Electrotruck, Use it within inner London and you wont have to fork out for the congestion charge either.
Only kidding before anyone goes and orders one. seriously attended the NEC several years ago and some firm were demoing something similar for appliances, only thing stopped me buying it was the £2500. price tag.

    Re: Unusual request

Confused 😕 , If the tennant has settled your invoice, how can he ask that you put it at a higher figure so that he can go back to his landlord for reimbursement? They all sound like they are out to do each other. Once you get drawn into this you’ll never have a straight forward job or invoice with these people ever again.
Definately one to do straight down the line, without favours or back handers for any of them. That way they can like it or lump it but at least you keep your integrity and life remains simple,You are your boss…
Or have I read this completely wrong…. 😳

Memory serves me right, experienced similar problems back in 93 -94 they changed to a higher torque slightly larger clutch assembly, still same number 151201
#1 Last time I experienced this I replaced the clutch housing assembly including clutch, cheaper alternative than new motor if still available?
#2 Check the brake adjustment by removing the bung on the cabinet side and adjust as necessary.

    Re: admiral toploader bearing job

These machines are big and easy to dismantle, there is however a few tools which are required to succesfully work on these machines.
Along with this these are American so all bolts / nuts are AF.
Please do not remove the break housing beyond the pulley as this houses a large spring under great tension.
The transmission is guaranteed for 10 years but this would have to go through an authorised Maytag Service Partner to be done under warranty.
