Just watched a video on YouTube that shows replacing the balance rings which are fitted to the drum on Samsung washers.
Not sure how they work but they are not a listed part on this model.
Look like hollow plastic rings I’m and not sure if they fill/partially fill with water in use.

Yes paddles full of water is what I was thinking but I’ve never come across that before because most paddles have holes in them.
Not really sure what you mean by a liquid counter balance.

No Dave it certainly sounds like a water sploshing around.
Exactly the same sort of noise you get when there’s an inch or so of water left.
It’s not mechanical resistance from drum or motor.
Almost like there’s a container containing liquid attached to the drum and out of sight.
    very wierd!

Not yet was going to check that on my next visit.
Trouble with built in dishwashers you can spend so much time removing from housing, then dismantling to diagnose the fault and if you don’t find the problem the customer is reluctant to pay for your time.
Sometimes you just wished you had walked away!

    Hi Dave,

Obviously difficult to test when full of water but I’ve had m/c out and connected mains supply direct to the circulation pump and it pores up fine.

Yeah could only find an unprogrammed module which isn’t any good to me.
Update…removed module and discovered a barbecued slug on the pcb.
Removed the offending slug and cleaned up the mess.
Seems to be working ok so I’ll keep fingers crossed
