Are you in a hard water area? Excessive dosing of any detergent will cause a build-up of scum which will block anything it sticks too.

As for the smell, you need to do a service wash once a month which involves using a standard auto powder (Persil, Ariel etc) and running a 90C whites wash.

Have a look HERE for more information.

    Re: Siemens showing fault code

It sounds like you have managed to get some water in the base and this has tripped the flood protection system. It doesn’t take a great deal of water to do this and tipping the machine around has moved the water away from the detection mechanism (a polystyrene float with switch above!)

In all probability it will now be fine and the remaining water in the base will gradually evaporate but you might like to take the right hand side panel off, tip the machine slightly to that side and mop any water you can see in the base…be careful not to get water on the wiring or motor and make sure it’s unplugged at all times :zap:

Why does ‘Four candles’ spring to mind??? 😆

….and yes, what is the point of giving a due date if it’s not adhered too? We also have had parts on long-term back order with the eta moving on every week 😕

Sounds like there’s still some muck in the OWI (the black grid)….

The only way to be sure is to remove it altogether and carefully unclip it apart, it bayonets on underneath.

Plug out at all times :zap:

The simmerstat is faulty…if you post up the model number of the cooker, or the type number of the simmerstat then we can advise you which replacement you require 😉

Or to put it another way, make sure there’s enough laundry in there to spread around the drum 😆

Re: ikea whirlpool dwh b10 4 flashes

Usually very simple…look in the sump at about the 3 o’clock position, you will see a grid which is probably clogged up. Clean it thoroughly with hot water and a toothbrush…don’t poke anything sharp through as there is a rubber diaphragm behind which you might puncture.

If it won’t clean up like that you will need to remove it completely (bayonets in from underneath) and carefully take it apart.

Down here where the water is as hard as nails i’ve had three or four that have ingested a sock which has wrapped itself around the eco-ball and blocked the thing well and truly….

It sounds to me like a rinse-aid problem, try turning the rinse-aid setting right down to minimum.

How often do you put salt in and what quantity?
