Re: Indesit WIE 1375 washing machine fault code

AFAIK that’s not a recognised code, but these are shockers for throwing up things like that. More often than not it’s due to an earth fault (heater is prime suspect) but can also be a faulty motor or pcb i’m afraid. If it’s a faulty pcb that could equally be because another component has let go and taken the board with it.

Certainly sounds like a blockage between the metering tank and the sump…no need to strip the sump out. Once you have the metering tank off you should be able to see the tube where the water enters the tub and clean it out with something like a small bottle brush.

    Re: Dishwasher stuck in Program?

Yes most likely there is water in the base panel of the cabinet and it’s now on it’s flood protection. You need to first need to get rid of that so it will run and can be tested…

Plug out, lid off, RHS panel off and tip gently onto it’s RHS on a towel…water will flow out (a pint or so)

Reassemble, plug back in and run on a cycle (any) to check that it drains successfully.

Time to break out the insulation tester…my money is in the heater for two reasons :-
    1. it’s the most common cause of insulation failure (MCCB tripping)
    2. if the NTC has suffered damage then the heater has probably had some extreme disturbance (usually foreign object damage)

Either way, the only way to find out is by meter…

    Re: Built in fridge

If its an ancient Hygena with a thin laminate decor trim then AFAIK there are no replacements currently manufactured, or are there likely to be in the near future.

    Alternatives?

If it’s an ‘in column’ type then the only option is to fit a regular built-in type and have an outer door made to match the kitchen units.

If it’s an under counter type then there is at least the option to fit free standing…

The only thing I’d point out is that if the punter fires in liquid too fast it could start syphoning when they don’t want it to. If they’re aware though, not a problem.

Yes I considered that Ken but I suspect they’d have to wildly overfill the compartment with fabric conditioner, and even then I’m not sure the conditioner is runny enough to start the syphoning process on it’s own…

In any case, this particular customer doesn’t actually use fabric conditioner but was unhappy about the small amount of water that would slop out of the drawer when she opened it…so another happy customer!

Incidentally, the water flow rate didn’t seem on the low side, there was a middling pressure supply to the machine. I wounder now if the slight distortion to the compartment tray added to the problem. If you look at my picture it shows how it has banana’d slightly which leaves the back corner hanging a bit lower, this would also slightly increase the difference in height between the top of the syphon tubes and the point at which the water can overflow the back?

Re: Hygena Super Deluxe APL 3220 Electric Oven

    Hi Beertron

IIRC this one is a standard built-under single oven? In which case it’s designed to fit into a standard floor mounted 600mm unit. Therefore any make of similar oven would slot straight in there.

If it’s been fitted into a bespoke housing then the easiest thing to do is to undo the mounting screws in the side trims and carefully slide the whole oven out a couple of inches…you can then measure it directly, or more importantly measure the width of the opening it’s been fitted into.

You are unlikely to find the that information printed anywhere…

Re: ISE 10 leak from soap drawer

Been to one recently…this particular one wasn’t leaking but it wasn’t syphoning out so the fabric conditioner compartment and bleach compartment were both left full of water at the end of the cycle so I set about modding the tubes…

These are the tubes in question :-

As you can see they certainly sit with their tops above the back edge of the drawer so successful syphoning can only start if the flow of water into the compartments is high enough to raise the water level right over the back of the dispenser. Note also some slight distortion to the compartment although I can’t see this having any bearing on the problem :-

So….out with the stanley knife and carefully trim down the height of the tubes :-

Both tubes now finish flush with the top of the back of the compartments :-

Lastly, a quick check under a running tap to check the function and the result…the compartments both drain freely and easily…

All in all a very easy fix!

There could be one of a number of faults causing this…have you tried the self-test function?

Push and hold the top two buttons, the display will eventually start to flash then go out altogether.

Make a note of which if any bars in the number segments are lit…if any are then this indicates a specific fault.

The technical term for your timer is ‘buggered’ i’m afraid 😆

Given the age of the machine and the quality of the manufacturer the best advice is replace it…the machine that is!

Hi Bryan…seems they’ve been a bit heavy handed moving the machine around and as the pipe is external to the cabinet it got grabbed and began to split just above the moulded olive :/
