Machine out from under the worktop, side panels off then check the corrugated transfer hose on the left hand side.
You’ll be able to mop out the base tray from there….plug out of course :zap:

This little beauty! One of the ugliest cars ever made. Currently an empty shell – need to get the restoration moving again.

    Chris.

Thought these kinda threw themselves away in a ball of rust??? 😆

Yes, AFAIK you need an account but we’ve found both to be very amenable 😉

    Hi Rob

With spurious fault indications like this you can only check the obvious like earth faults, wiring harness etc….if it’s none of those then the pcb is a gonner 😕

    2,3 & 5 is a no pump out fault 😉

If you’re trade why not pm or email one of the mods for trade entry?….there’s all sorts of useful stuff in the trade sections, and of course you keep up to date with the state of the trade…including the gossip 😆

The top (grill) element and the bottom (hidden) element do get hot. But the sides don’t, does this model have side elements that might be broken?

No….no side elements. IIRC the top element is a double one, the outer coil only is the top oven element. If this is getting hot along with the concealed bottom element on the oven setting then the stat is favourite.

You can check this of course with a cheap oven thermometer…not strictly accurate but certainly ball-park close enough to prove the point.

Re: Don’t you just love it when……

yeah yeah….except when it’s me the tap is directly behind the machine which is now catching on the very expensive floor covering that because of the price didn’t get laid all the way to the wall. 😕

I’m looking forward to seeing their WEEE bill in a few years time 😆

Perhaps the ‘expert’ wasn’t so after all?

Might be worth clicking the link below to find a local engineer to correctly diagnose the fault before you start spending cash on parts 😉

Re: AEG Competence B4140-1-M grill element removal/replaceme

Oven out job i’m afraid…B&D Workmates are the order of the day 😉

Once the oven is out and back panel off, all will be revealed.

Don’t forget, fully isolate the appliance before doing anything :zap:
