ParticipantRe: Replacing NTC Thermistor on Indesit WIDL126

Above the metal strip is a circular device about 4cm diameter which has a rubber surround to it and also two thin wires connected to it.
JimThat would be the thermistor 😉
Can be removed by gently prising at it’s edge with a flat-blade driver (careful not to damage the seal). The new one can be fitted by gently prising the seal edge back over it…a little liquid soap on the seal helps.
But….as martin said much better to check it with a meter, and the associated wiring first. If you have a meter take a resistance reading between the two connectors on it and let us know what it is?
Fully isolate (plug out) before doing anything :zap:

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool G2PDWI/1WH Flashing 4 times?
….means it either hasn’t drained or thinks it hasn’t drained. Check the filters in the base and check for blockages at the end of the drain hose, if you still have problems it gets a little bit more involved with sensors and circuit boards in which case you might like to click the link below for a local engineer?

I’ve had a couple where they fitted the appliance (stacks of 1in square chipboard pieces under each foot) then fitted the units around them 👿

I used to like Faldo until he visited my fathers club…he had courtesy of the course as do all pro’s but spent most of the time chipping a dozen or more balls out of each bunker for practice….held up everyone else on the course and didn’t even bother to rake up after 😕
Needless to say Open and Masters champion or not, he will not be welcomed back again 😆The one player I do admire is Ernie ‘The Big Easy’ Els….always a gentleman, never displays a temper….and can’t half hit a ball too!

ParticipantRe: Diplomat
Continuous flashing is actually a single flash repeated 😉
That correlates to error E1 which is an NTC fault.

The drinks are on you Merv! 😆
Well done Padraig it’s been a long time coming, and bad luck Sergio who couldn’t quite keep it together, so near though.
It’s certainly been one of the best Opens for a long while, nailbiting stuff!

ParticipantRe: Was this door seal fitted the wrong way?
If the door seal is going out of shape so quickly then in my experience it means the suspension rubbers have worn. Easy to check too…just open the door and have a look at the tub and drum, they should sit square with the cabinet, i.e. if you were to hold an imaginary straight-edge across the front lip of the drum from one side to the other, then that should be parallel with the front of the cabinet. Not a big job to do, and not very expensive either.
The pinhole in the old seal is symptomatic of this too…door seals these days tend to fail when they are not being flexed in the direction they were designed to cope with, they end up ‘creasing’ at one particular point (usually at about the 4 o’clock or 8 o’clock position) which results in a hole at the point of highest stress 😉The drum rubbing the seal and wearing it is more of a problem though. Either the door seal is an incorrect one (seems unlikely), the seal is incorrectly fitted (extremely unlikely) or the drum is misaligned within the tub (highly likely). If it’s the latter then there is a more serious problem with the drum or it’s support 😕

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool Leak
Very unlikely TBH, it’s not an inlet to the pump, its an outlet which means the water is at a considerably high pressure.
Does the pump look like this?

If it does then the only surefire cure is replacement

ParticipantRe: Indesit IDL500 Top spray arm problem
If there is a good pressure coming out of the holes in the arm then the arm itself is worn and will need replacing.
Part no. C00075746
Email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should produce the results 😉
