That only leaves the pcb itself then 😕
Email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk should produce the goods….don’t forget to quote the full model number and Pnc nnumber (12 digits long) both of which you’ll find on the rating plate.

The only way is to dismount it and carefully open it up…you will need to loosen the large adjacent airbreak chamber then the float chamber can be pulled away. Do take care on opening it…there are a number of small plastic nibs that need to be depressed without breaking the plastic. You will notice that there is actually more than one chamber in the assembly so give it all a thorough clean out.
Once open i suspect all will be revealed 😉

7 flashes according to the tech means the flow meter has failed. In practice it nearly always means there is a poor connection to the flowmeter….the cure undo, clean and remake the connections. The flow meter is situated in the airbreak chamber located at the left hand side near the bottom at the back.
Don’t forget to unplug before doing anything :zap:

Diplomat is an MFI own brand and as such they have used various manufacturers machines which all have different fault codes and reset procedures. Have a look down the edge of the door and let us know the model number 😉

Yes, this sounds like the infamous E2 fault, most often caused by food blockages. First port of call is to lift out the filter in the base and locate the rubber flap at about the 1 o’clock position in the sump.
This reveals a pipe which will need cleaning. Unfortunately the pipe does a right angle turn to the right about half way in so you need to rod it with something flexible. I personally use a piece of thin tubing which will not only go around the bend but i can also blow through to clear the blockage. Pouring a pint or two of water into the sump first allows you to carefully ‘jet’ the pipe clear by carefully sucking and blowing through the tube.
Reset the machine and run a rinse, then reassemble with flap and filter.
If you still get problems let us know?

Have you checked that the corrugated hose is clean and the side chamber with the float is also spotless?

ParticipantRe: Names
Personally speaking Martin i’m right with Ken on what he has done so far….i like his ideas for the TA and i know he’s got the ‘zip’ to get things done. My ‘go for it’ remark is a reflection in the confidence i have in Ken, his stated ideals and motivation for moving this forward in the direction it is going, and i for one fully realise the time commitment that man has given on this alone.
No, i can’t be at the meeting in september (my business partner has the bare-faced cheek to get married and go on honeymoon leaving me to hold up the bricks and mortar!) but i wish i could if only to hear the views from others in person.
What has suprised me a little is the lack of others who have voiced their opinions lately and i suspect it’s for the same reasons…they too are perfectly happy with the stated aims for a TA as they stand, and they too have their faith in Ken and the way he works.
As to ‘rolling up sleeves’ i’m there too waiting for the call as it were…i personally don’t know the ‘movers and shakers’ in the business, but the TA as it is becoming is something i fervently believe is necessary, well over due in fact, and i’m prepared to make commitments in time and effort to see it happen. (Ken please take note)
I hope you will be at the meeting Martin as i would like to hear your views as well as others, and i’m looking forward to reading the minutes of what i’m sure will be a healthy and productive debate. I’m quite sure that any organisation like this starts with a few ideas from a few people, and once the germ has been formed it’s then that the work begins 😉

A lot of these Jim are used by multiple bods. Some stop it prior to 10 mins cool down, some overload and some never clean the lint filter.
Combine that with Daves post you can see the majority of faults called to with this one. 😥
Some I have seen don’t use the correct vent hose or length aswell. Best stuff to use is flue liner not plastic flexi hose.Greg
The last one i did was only a couple of weeks ago, it was installed in the cellar of a whacking great country house. The cellar must have had damp problems at some time because there was a huge extractor unit running in the adjacent cellar room. Said extractor was sucking air out at such a rate it reduced the air pressure in the whole cellar….i kinda twigged when i pulled the vent hose off the wall fitting and got a face full of fluff being sucked back into the room 😕
The maid said ‘that drier’s useless, it always takes ages to dry things’…the poor machine has been having a tug-of-war with the extractor from day one 😯

Reminds me of many years back when i had a call in ‘Nine Mile Ride’….just a house name and it was 5 o’clock on a rainy december afternoon 😕

ParticipantRe: DeDietrich d/w door springs
The last De Dietrich that i put door springs on took two of us to do the job…one to stretch the springs up to the top mounting, and the other to stop the whole machine lifting off the floor under the strain 😆
In fact it felt like one of the most dangerous jobs i’d undertaken 😕They do look….well….kinda small 😆

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool G2P61F/01SR oven takes ages to turn off after
Most ovens these days will over run the cooling system after use, how long depends on just how hot the appliance is when it’s turned off.
If it’s always taken this long to switch off you need to check that you have the correct ventilation for the appliance, but if it’s just started doing it then you may have a lazy cut-out…not a big or expensive job.
