” think ” it could be a ” heating ” problem as all appears normal upto the wash/tablet release point

Correct mate – fault is time out heating up. if there are no local engineers listed in your area get back onto hotpoint as it probly will need a part replacing.

Agree with martin on this, sounds like capacitor – but check it still heats up.

Capacitor is rated 7uf on these and available from shop@ http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/Tumble+D … citor.html

Don’t think your missing anything! does sound like the module is playing up.

I’ve had one that was permanantly stuck in a cycle and would’t reset (but the programme light was working)- changed module and sorted

Re: “knocking noises” from Whirlpool dishwasher pu

Whirlpool appliance are identified better by thier product number look for a 12 digit number on the machine. If in doubt post all the numbers up from the rating plate.

It will be similar to another model – retailers buy exclusive models from manufacturers normally with only cosmetic differences so “you can’t buy this dishwasher cheaper anywhere else”

personally i’ve never come accross a noisey whirlpool dishwasher so hopefully one of the other UKW members has and can give you more advice.

    Re: Hotpoint WMA31P motor

If the motor is metering out ok then the problem may be with the control board, have a look at it for signs of damage.

please do not connect the motor directly to the mains :zap:

If in doubt call out an engineer – look in repairs@ or call hotpoint direct as you do have 5 year free parts with them.

what was the part no/ price of the motor from ebay?

To reset these hold the programme button down for about 3 secs – the door must be open when you do this: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ght=#21734

I’m sure you should have some sort of indicator light on tho!

Give the bank of scotland a ring before the repair. some card companies use
domestic and general insurance. If they do use d&g get the policy details and ariston will bill them direct – so you shouldn’t need to claim back the repair cost.

The thermal fuse has probly blown and will need a part to be replaced.
there may be something thats caused it to blow – best to have it checked.

If you have cover through your credit card – ring them and get an engineer out,

As for your parts cover you have a 5 year parts guarantee with ariston as long as you pay them around £90 for the call out.
