As well as each of the sites pointing to the Hotpoint site it works in reverse.
Try ordering spares direct from the Hotpoint web site and it redirects you to each of the “4” sites.

    Re: Powerhouse Bust!

THIS TIME LAST YEAR WAS INSTALLING 30+ COOKERS A WEEK FOR POWERHOUSE AS A SUBBY. WHEN THEY DROPPED THE NUMBER OF STORES LAST OCTOBER I STILL GOT DRIBS AND DRABS DIRECT FROM THE STORES LOCALLY CHARGING THE CLIENT DIRECT. LAST JOB FOR P/HOUSE WAS THIS MORNING…..

AH WELL, JUST AS WELL NOT ALL EGGS IN ONE BASKET EVEN THOUGH THE BASKET IS SMALL WITH NOT MANY EGGS IN IT!

Re: Engineers who want no work

We’re almost exactly the same as you Squadman; appointments when wanted, fixed price repair costs up front and do all that we can for the client.

We too are quiet at the moment but when we do get calls from clients who have rung around they tell us the same story – companies who don’t ring back, can’t give prices and generally do not give a damn.

I used to think that this was a problem found predominately in London area – too many people for not enough engineers so the engineers could pick and choose – but the same is happening in the North too.

Biggest problem is that the customers don’t learn – they ring around every time – perhaps trying to get a cheaper price that doesn’t and will never exist!

    Re: TECNIK TKC1285 Grill Element

Thanks for everyones help on this one.

Have not been to site yet to photo this one – we always try to do a a first time fix to make the job cost effective.

If Dave can obtain Boro’s part cheaper then of course we will purchase from Dave; if not we will buy from BSH. If its the wrong element we will put into stock – there is bound to be one goes sooner or later.

Once again Thanks everyone for all of the time and trouble

Re: Cannon Cooker 10248G (Pearl Duo) – Oven ignition problem

    Thanks for your reply Dave.

The burner is clean and the spark is jumping between the HT electrode and the earth electrode during the ignition process. Once the main oven burner is lit the sparking stops. It then starts clicking again after a while.

What is throwing me is that the ignition box is not picking up the flame rectification process after about an hours use. The burner is lit all of the time in use and as long as there is a flame present between the HT electrode and the earth electrode the ignition box should pick up the rectification properties of the flame.

Could be another faulty ignition unit but given that the new one fitted is “updated” I don’t know what the odds are about a faulty new component matching the original fault.

    Once again thanks Dave

    Re: Cooker Stat adjusting tool.

I agree with Seamy and Martin. If the stat has drifted it is not worth recalibrating as it will only drift further. Break the red sealing paint on an EGO and that is the end of any warranty or comeback.
If the stat is running hot its a sure sign that the expansion agent is creeping away somewhere.
