hi ,if you turn the temp knob to the off position does the fridge /freezer carry on running if it does it will be a board fault if it switches off when turned manualy to the off position change the sensor ,the sensor picks up the evaporater temp. so will have to be fitted in its correctly designed position .The only other reason the fridge is freezing would be if it has lost a bit of refrigerant ..but try the other things first Cras

ParticipantRe: wet motor
Years ago we used to share a workshop with a motor re wind chap he used to place damp motors in an oven to dry them out ….interestingly my dad used to do the same with compressors when repairing a punctured system ,he used to pop them in the oven pipes from compressor out of the door attached to a vacuum pump ,change of oil also and hey presto no blocked sytem ,a trick he picked up from the prestcold factory who he said at the time were not fitting filter driers to there fridges 😯 Cras

ParticipantRe: how far do you go
i think its all down to attitude ,i have refunded in the past ,offered large discount off a new machine etc but this womans attitude just really got up my nose ,still resigned myself to a refund now just so i dont have to deal with her again ,interestingly in november i took the plunge and introduced a call out charge across the whole of my business and have seen no drop in workload but a drop in customers from the lower end of the evolutionary scale .. 😆

ParticipantRe: Clever dicky or not???
i just love these electronics bods over complicating simple repairs ,had one a few weeks ago who told me how he had repaired his wma board whilst using all sorts of technical jargon that that was beyond me ,i was there to fit a new belt he had bought that he couldnt make fit because it was to short :rolls: . the reason he was changing the belt was to cure a noisy spin :rotfl:

ParticipantRe: customer wants money back!!!
personaly i would never let a customer dictate how much there going to pay and certainly not after they have issued you a cheque .sounds like the hubby has taken a look at what you have done and has felt a complete dick at what he had done and now is trying to shift the blame on to you Can understand though how you would feel and at the end its up to you how you deal with it
