we have just had similar problems when they failed to meet the delivery time they stated on a special order washer ,had a hell of a game getting them to refund our card and wanted to credit our account but as we rarely use them we refused .We paid by debit card but next time would pay by credit card at least this way you can request a charge back from your card provider ,like you say be aware Cras

same thing happened to me two years ago ,went to look at a wma that was overfilling they didnt want to go ahead with the repair so i left i knew they were wasting my time so i never moved the machine ,just filled it and emptied .Six months later a letter arrives from a solicitor stating i had attended a repair and after i had left the machine flooded the kitchen causing £3500 worth of damage ,no contact from the insurance or the customer up to this point ,they asked me to pass it on to my insurance which i refused ,then started talking about court procedings ,so i said see you there then and prove i was liable ,never heard anymore .Stand firm they are just trying to claw back the money to anybody that is soft enough to comply with there demands :rolls: Cras

my prefered method alf is to re insulate using a bit of fibre glass insulation tightly packed in then seal over with a square of plastic then covered over with gas closure tape ,i know that most use canned foam to re insulate but my method allows for easier access should you need to return at a later date ,never had any problems 😀

Took a call this morning for an american style fridge freezer ,it was slightly out of area but decided to book it in advised the customer that we have a fixed price labour charge plus parts …….slight pause on the phone then customer says “so you want to charge me even if i dont want it repaired ” “yes ” i say . “well thats a rip off i dont even know whether i want it repairing yet and would have thought with the way things are that you would be willing to quote free of charge, im a builder and never charge for my quotes” Advised him i repair fridges that take a couple of hours to fix and am not quoting for a£ 50,000 extension that promises 4 months work that may be the difference ……click phone goes dead…..tosser :rolls:

Thanks ,looks like somebody has already tried the sealent route as there was dried silicon everywhere ,thought that after looking at the collar that it must be fitted from inside at least now i can price accordingly thanks again Cras

yep its there space in front of there house :rolls: only last week i removed my car off the drive and parked it down the road due to having my carpets cleaned ,no parking restriction in our cul de sac but when i returned from work later there was a note left on my windscreen stating that i had parked outside some old duffers house and if i am parking long stay could i move further down the road , i wouldnt mind but he has a drive of his own 😕 Cras

i think a joke i heard recently encompasses all that is wrong with camera s it went something like ……..I recentley received three points for doing 35 mph in a 30 which i consider very fair considering i had 4 bold tyres no tax ,mot or insurance and was out of my face on alcohol and crack cocaine at the time .. 😆

hi im a work mate of kez ,have spoken to the engineer and he states that he fitted glass with door in situ ,customer says she rarely uses the microwave but states it was working when she last tried it ,will get him to pull it out and try the switces and check the fuse thanks for the reply Cras

there is a template giving you the measurements ,i did have one at one time but no longer have it and go from memory now ,so looking at the back its normally on the left hand side aprox 4 inches from the side and about 8 inches down from memory ,cut backing with a stanley knife ,then dig out the insulation and you will come across the old sensor stuck down with silver tape ,i normally cut the old sensor off and re make the new one on the end by soldering the cables and using heat shrink to seal ,i know that lots of engineers use foam in a can to re insulate but i usualy use fibreglass insulation( it was good enough for a 1950 s fridge 😆 ) tightly packed in and use aluminium foil tape to re seal the back . hope that helps i may not be accurate with the measurements but its in that area Cras ps power off first course

based in the midlands nr Derby cover about a twenty mile radius from our base ,quite lucky really that there are a lot of households in our condensed area ,helps that we have been running for about 25 years though and have managed to build up a good customer base 🙂

quieter the last three weeks ,we normally book on average 45-50 fresh calls a week (there are two of us ,we only do private work ) but the last three weeks have been 28 calls,32 calls and and so far this week 26 calls ,nice to have a bit more time to myself at the moment though and be able to take the dogs out in the daylight 🙂 happens every year between jan and june though in my experience ,theres always a couple of crap months ,but never the same ones ,chin up it evens itself out during the year 😉
