The humming is probably the inlet valve locking out due to overfill protection cutting in. when you removed and cleaned the blue tubes did you also clear the sump where they fit ?.
I always remove the top basket and with the aid of a long clear plastic tube & torch suck any muck into the tube being careful not to get it all the way into your mouth – reset valve and test. No water should be visable in the pressure switch hose
Also when you removed tubes from pressure switch, you didn’t reverse them as i’ve seen that before.

Re: HOTPOINT WDL 520 not drying properly

I had a job for a local letting agency early last year on a IWDE12, tenant was complaining about the same problem and I was unable to find any fault on the first visit. After a couple of weeks I got another request to call again and this time the pump refused to work during the drying cycle although it worked ok on wash. Replaced board with one from EMW and never heard from her again – might be worth having a word with them as they indicated it was a known problem.

Looking at diagram I can’t see why the machine would work with only one side shorted and I have never investigated about the hose – have sent some info to your email

    Re: What should I do?

Yes very simple, I used it twice last year and got my money from both & had bailiff call on one of them.
