Re: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?

Called on a customer 18months ago and gave him the bad news that his old Hotpoint 1800 series wm that was 20years old was beyond repair, tried to explain that Hotpoint machines are no longer the same standard as his old one and tried to advise him against another Hotpoint. So he bought a Hotpoint WMF740 – I had a callout last week – his bearings had started to get noisy, firstly wouldn’t believe me that it would be the bearings, also wouldn’t believe that it was a sealed drum as his daughter had new bearings slipped into her machine for £50 and expected ME to phone Hotpoint to complain on his behalf !

I presume you have tested that you are getting power to the board on U3.1 & U3.2 and the knob spindle is turning in the switch correctly, if so looks like new board req.

    Re: Whirlpool ADP4403

I had one of these with a similar fault continuous flashing and pulsing but if left would eventually carry on the cycle, tested components and replaced NTC but was unable to clear the fault. after finding another thread on here it appears that other engineers have had the same problem and pointed back to the control board but owing to the cost I don’t think anyone changed one. My customer decided to put up with the fault and as far as I know she still has the machine.

I had one of these not heating and this was the problem – This is a safety switch so that the heater is not energised unless water is being pumped You could bypass the switch for testing to see if the heater operates

Check Pressure Chamber L/H Side + seals on wash pump and also pump to sump seal – check the pipe from sump to pressure chamber for blockage.
