I appreciate that you want to buy this item at a knocked down price but you really should be getting a complete unit not one with bits missing. You can get a water connection kit fairly easily which includes the connector that fits to the water solenoid and via small bore plastic pipe to the water supply. After all you wouldn’t buy a car with only three wheels from the front forecourt.

No just started very recently, you probably wont see any comments yet as they haven’t been out long enough to get a torrent of failures

Generally these are only screen printed onto the facia plate. You will have to buy a new plate. If you post the model number we can give you a part no and price.

Looking at the diagram, the seal fits behind the inner plastic liner, if you fold back the door seal you will perhaps see the retaining screws.

They are from the Slovenia, generally sold by you local independent company. You can view their products on http://www.gorenje.co.uk. which will also list the UK retailers. We’ve been selling them for about three years and not had a refrigeration failure.

    Re: hotpoint fridge problems

If its short of gas it will cause this, watch out for the compressor (motor) running all the time. Or if you have a gap in the door seal you will get the same problem. LEC no

One of these two faults is likely, either it is short of refrigerant and not getting down to temperature or the compressor is failing, thereby not passing enough refrigerant around the system to get it down to the correct temperature. Engineer time I’m afraid.

    Re: Fridge problem

It would appear that you have accidently pierced the ice box and released the refrigerant, whilst this is repairable if you can find a good engineer, I would suggest it is not cost effective on an old fridge.

Re: Hotpoint FFA97G Fridge Freezer Thermistors

If its like the FFA60 or FFA70 the thermistors are embedded in the foam and are not available as a seperate item. What I’ve been doing is – find the plug in of the thermistors to PCB and then at room temp check their resistance – all should be about the same. If not then you have a duff thermistor, if they are the same probably a PCB fault.

Re: samsung RS20CCMS5 american fridge freezer

Seems we have a disagreement on procedure – however, if the appliance is guaranteed for two years then the responsibility to rectify the fault is with Samsung not Comet retail (although Comet have a duty to the customer). As R600a has indicated they would not write off an appliance for a compressor. On the other hand if it is more than this and a very expensive repair then they have an option to replace with a similar product. Seems however (and we appreciate your predicament having bought a replacement due to delays in Comet) that you are being offered vouchers – now you either take the vouchers and spend them on something else or take on Comet. Samsung have the responsibility to repair or replace nothing more. Comet have the responsibility to you as their customer.

Short of refrigerant or compressor failing – both common on these at this age.
