Re: unmarked fridge/freezer freezer door needed

Can you either give us the serial number or be more specific as to what you want. The APM6222 is a built in freezer which does not have a door handle. The APM6121 is a built in fridge also without a door handle. Do you want the bit that fits to the door trim or do you want an ice box door handle ??

Ok Mr Ken – Just in the name of fair play and to give the little guy a chance, I’ll put a bottle of decent Bourbon into the pot for those of you (or me) that can sell the most ISE 2 by hogmanay.

Re: Dead Freezer – is it worth repairing

It rather depends on the quality, condition and age of the machine. If its overall in good order I might suggest you have it repaired. The other thing is how do you guage its worth? I guess as soon as you buy it its worth nothing these days. But if its a particular colour, size or make that you like repair it – you really have to find out first what caused it to fail, it might just be water in a thermostat or a frayed mains cable.

    Re: ABUSIVE CUSTOMERS

Some years ago when we were doing work for Currys it got so bad that I made up a letter indicating where/who the customer should contact if she had a problem. It went along the lines of – if its delivery contact here, if its performance go here. If its parts go here and if its us Im here. Handed it to the customer as soon as they had pointed me in the appliance direction and told me what was wrong. Worked everytime but I bet Currys got it in the ear 😈

Re: Samsung RS21KGRS Fridge Fan Icing Up

If the appliance is under 2 years old get Samsung to repair it under the guarantee. If outside this period read up on the search area putting in ‘samsung rs21’ and then decide which way to go.

Re: Dishwasher salt resevior full of water.

No – water is mixed with the salt to flush out the water softener thats fitted to you dishwasher, as the salt level goes down so the water level fills to the cap. Adding salt just displaces the water in the salt container.

    Re: 1960s fridge question

Without contradicting my friend Ken and talking about the original idea of buying an old fridge – if you like it do it, honestly, if you are buying an antique you must expect afew unusual aspects to getting it working. If you can find a handy fridge man he will be able to refurbish the unit with non cfc gas, operating thermostats and a running system. The problem you will have is that you will not be able to source things like, shelves, door handles etc. I’ve a lovely 1954 LEC running in our office – quality 😀
