ModeratorRe: Hotpoint, arrrgggghhhh!! What are my options??
And how many British people lost their jobs as a result of Merloni’s involvment – say – Blyth Bridge and Philco does that ring any bells. As you quite rightly say, there are two sides to every story.

ModeratorRe: Noisy Hotpoint Freezer + Red Light Lit
Do this – switch off at wall and leave it off for about 30 mins. Then switch it back on and listen for a hum followed by a click. If you get this then you have a faulty motor, if you get something else post what you hear/see

ModeratorRe: washing machine unable to do a 60 degree wash ?
Two points – does the washing machine have hot and cold connections on its rear? If so you will need a hot and cold water feed to make it work above 60C (washing machines generally with two inlets hoses fill through both hot and cold on a 60C wash and through the hot supply above this temp on the wash program) If it only has one connection at the back you have a fault with the washer.

ModeratorRe: Any feedback on ISE10 models yet?
Hardly says anything other than they have not seen an ISE10 machine. Whilst its easy to praise a product that you have experience of selling and servicing, it is not however prudent to denigrate a product without the benefit of hindsight. As a company that has a number of 20+ year old Asko machines on my patch and one that concedes that Miele make a fine product, perhaps we should wait and see. You have also to look at the overall package as well – ease of repair, cost of spares, speed of service, environmental issues. A point perhaps worthy of noting is that those companies that sell the ISE machines are truly independent, they can sell what they like, their company depends on recommendation and reputation not manufacturer support.
