Re: Candy C7400 dishwasher sticking timer

Sticking timers can be caused by any number of things John, it could prove a costly mistake replacing it to find it’s exactly the same afterwards.

Check your waste where the dishwasher outlet pipe connects for blockages as even slow draining may cause it.

Apart from that, it may be time to call an engineer 😉

It may not be that this time though 😉

Possibly a blockage or pump failure ?

unlucky wrote:unless of course some bright spark out there can work out which component on the PCB controls the drain cycle. Then it’s pennies to fix!

It should be easy enough to work out in theory, please pull the plug if you’re going to have a delve around though :plug:

I’ll check this out tomorrow for you, I have the CDA tech info at the office.

I may well have an element in stock that will do the job as well 😀

    Re: tricity bendix dishwasher

These Zanussi clones are rife with “not filling” problems, normally down to blockages and/or air locks.

There are various modifications for them to resolve these problems.

Best bet is ask an engineer to look at it for you as none of the above are DIY jobs to be honest.

If you let us know your postcode, someone here should be able to assist further.

Yes, I can get them, in fact I may even have one somewhere.

If you measure the door I’ll let you have info for the closest match.

One surface will do, and no, no need to leave it. Place the glass straight on to the door and weight it down with something then leave for 24 hours, remove the excess and away you go 😀

No luck with the seals I’m afraid, I’ve added the terminal block to the shop for you though if you want one, link to it here for you:

    Hope this helps.

Re: Baumatic Range Cooker – burners won’t stay lit.

It sounds to me as if at least two of the thermocouples have gone as you suggested.

You will need a Corgi registered engineer to rectify this for you, if you pop your potcode up someone here should be able to assist.

In the meantime, you are, in my opinion entitled to a free of charge visit from Baumatic as the fault which was reported within the guarantee period has persisited and is not rectified, but if you don’t want to fight them that is of course your choice.

Ros, could you post up everthing on that plate please, I think it’s a Bosch or an AEG but the number you have already supplied isn’t recognised.

There are “universal” door seals available but to be frank, they are a nightmare to fit and even then they don’t really work very well.

    UK Whitegoods collectively.

The bearing kit is only £15 on this site 😉 but you’ll also need the seal that goes in between the two halves of the tub plus postage hence the “around £40” estimate which was a little high admittedly 😳

    The kit is available here

    The seal is here

I have the Bosch brochure here so this will help I hope:

WTL models – 5808/6307 and 6106 – you can buy an optional drain out kit, although it doesn’t list the part number for some reason, it will be in the user manual no doubt.

WTL6003 though has the kit already fitted and has no water container at all, it only empties via a washing machine waste or similar.

Re: Hotpoint – Change the bearings.

Three options open to you really:

1/ Do it yourself, the bearing kit and seals will cost around £40 which we can supply to you.

2/ Ask an Independant repairer to do it, possible costs between £100-£150.

3/ If it’s less than 5 years old, get Hotpoint to do it and you will only pay their call out/labour charge circa £80-£100 (free 5 year parts guarantee)
