De Dietrich is a wholly owned product name of Brandt, and that is not a Brandt part number.

That sounds something similar to a Whirlpool dishwaser p/switch.
It makes sure the water pressure is sufficient before allowing the heater to be switched on.
Anyway Tony, could you send me an email to remind me to check this on Monday for you, the only reason I ask is I have been away for 24 hours and the ammount of posts being put up recently, I may well miss/forget it.

It sounds like there may be a partial blockage somewhere in the draining system.
If the machine doesn’t drain within a certain time limit the programme will abort.
The only thing you can check yourself is the waste system the dishwasher is connected to, probably a spiggot on the sink trap. Check for blockages in there, if all seems ok, you will probably need an engineer.

I would like to see this before I comment directly about this to be honest.
I would say one thing though, the restrictions on what advertisers can and can’t say has been lifted a lot over the last few years. I remember when they weren’t allowed to mention the name of the direct competition at all, now they’re all at it, and I would assume a company in BG’s position would have had the advert checked out by lawyers before transmission, but you never know.
I would imagine there is a huge grey area around what would be seen as an “accusation” as oppossed to an “implication”.
But like I say, I haven’t seen it yet.

Re: Hopoint WD71 Not drying
As there is no error code being displayed, it may be indicating an error by beeping, I’m not sure if the error codes cover dryer faults TBH.
The classic is an open circuit 85c stat on the dryer unit, or broken leads in the same area.
It could also be a poor connection between the two pcb’s, ie, ribbon cable not pushed home correctly.
I’ve got the washing machine version service manual here if it’s any help.

I just had an alarming thought about this, has anyone considered the possibility that all or most of the repairs could be WMA bearing/drum replacements 😯

Funny you should mention that it reminded of a story in our local rag earlier this year.
The large toy company of a similar name successfully forced an Exeter tropical fish shop to change it’s name from Fish ‘R’ Us through the courts. Poor guy had to change his shop signage and all his paperwork as well.

No, but I have heard about it.
The only direct mention from D&G to myself was a phone call asking if we would attend an urgent call as GDA engineers were quite some days behind and had asked D&G to help out.

Going back to you’re original probem, how much did the engineer estimate the replacement compressor would cost ?
It will probably be up around the £200 mark, if it is, replace it would be my recommendation.
Compressors are hard to give a reason for premature failure really, many factors can cause problems like poor installation (no ventilation) make of compressor, underpowered for the appliance etc.
