    Re: dammed public

like i said i am not after making money off the callout just a deterant and it works the vast majority still pay for the repair only lose when a machine is ber which you can generally screen over the phone but most machines are not ber modules are cheap from emw motors rarely fail pumps cheap as chips bearings screened over the phone and punter sounded out

when i ber i offer the punter to have his tenner knocked off the price of a replacement so most of those come back to me to

pretty much win win to me

but i am in the centre of sunny blackpool and only travel at most ten miles either way

    Re: dammed public

back to the original thread i think
ther best course of action is to tell everyone over the phone about your call out charge and always charge one
you do not work for free nor should you be expected to
when we did free call outs all we did was run about giving quotes for them to either fix themselves or ask the next free estimate callout guy to fix for less
some even get you out just for curiousity we charge ten pound for the quote and that covers my time and puts off any time wasters while still being acceptable to genuine customers the callout is not for making money just for not wasting time

    Re: Hotpoint Aquarius WF250P

a good tip for the future if you are changing lifters and speed emptying the pump is to check those pockets before you start a wash
as for todays fault then i would say the motor as said before unplug and megger

Re: Hotpoint AQXXD169 not spinning with a load

Try a full load and let it go through the cycle
an uneven load can cause this sort of problem

    Re: SIMPLE PCB REPAIR TIPS

on the wma boards when the brushes have failed and blown the tracks if you go to the effort of repairing them and the machine then races into spin there is a diode which needs replacing it is pretty much straight above where the damage is done on the end of a line of 4 little components done 100’s

thanks very much that has sorted me out

is there any more diagnostic routines for hotpoint machines specifically wf/wt series
and the wma 30 series aquarius all would be very usefull to me

Re: Drum bearings advice needed?? Hotpoint wf100 drum and PH

You have to get the drum out first
sometimes they just pull out sometimes they need more force but be careful not to damage the drum shaft

    Re: creda strange

sure i have had this before but cant remember what sorted it
as for going to end if the motor tacho is dodgy that will make the program end but it would not account for the starting on its own

    Re: INDESIT R 24

just thought i would update my progress in case it helps anyoone else in the future
i decided to have another look at this fridge yesterday afternoon i went to look at the relay to see if anything was at fault there
when i looked closely i realised that the mains cable had been replaced upon inspection the live in was put directly onto the common hence the fridge was always running and the light only worked for a few hours when first plugged in
turns out the fellah whose fridge it is had changed it for a longer
    then the fault starts
makes you wonder why he did not feel it relevant to tell me that in the first place
