it sounds very much like it all the lgiuhts will flash on and off quite quickly if its the cap
there is a group of 4 together on the board c17 is the culprit 680uf 10v
either change it from a scrap board or do what i do and buy about 50 of them and leave them in your toolbox i do lots of themRe: Vacuum Cleaner Fires Now!

sorry misunderstood the post yeah check motor pull on the wires in the block one will be about had it dont think it would cause permanent door lock failure but try it

update
i got an identical one of these in my pile but i have already stolen the pcb of it
i put both the thermistors of it and the element and stats of the scrap one and now it runs fine but it never finishes the sensor setting
board fault?put it in bin pile?

i have seen this many times and it always seems to be the motor block wiring
i did have one that would not lock turned out the door hinge was bet so the pin was not quite making contact just needed bending back into shapeRe: ctd 40

my sn is 508220395 and the thermistor is white i cannot see anything saying tod or elth on the stat though
although a picture on connect shows a black thermistor with a raised base described as a tod you may be onto something there
think i will just order the whole set of 4 in and try againRe: ctd 40
elth and tod are they the manufacturers name?
i wonder if thats where the fault lies i doubt it but maybe ok once more in i go
