Now why didn’t I think of that ! 🙄 Go for it Don ! pose the question in the general forum and attach a poll to it and let’s just see how many will be interested. There’s certanly enough guy’s to do it if the concept is accepted. We would have to sort out the logistics but nothing is impossible if the desire is there.

Hi
I dont think that you have to beat the sheds on price to suceed. The important thing to a lot of people (not all admittedly) is the service that they get with their new appliance.
When we sell a Bosch appliance I always stress all the freebies that they get when they buy from me. i.e.
Free delivery (the sheds show this as an extra)
Free Installation ( again the sheds show this as an extra )
Free function check ( we check the machine through a rinse and spin on delivery to show it works in situ. The sheds dont !)
Free demo (10 minutes spent showing the customer how to use and get the best out of their new purchase pay’s off a real dividend in several way’s ) less mickey mouse calls, cutomer uses the machine correctly, makes the customer far more confident in using the machine, you attain that customers goodwill and repeat bussiness when they look for other appliances.
Free two year guarantee (an awful lot of people, really get pissed off with the shed’s when they realise that they had the chance of 2 years free cover on their new machine that the shed’s didn’t tell them about when they sold em an extended warranty)
I really can’t understand why more service guy’s dont sell a lot more.
They already have their foot through the door, they are the first person to realise that a new machine is required, they know what the best machines are. etc etc.Perhaps we need to start a buying group here in UKW to get the best deals. I wonder how many guy’s would be interested ?

When you say you moved it recently, was it on it’s side for any length of time.
As sometimes this can cause a blockage which could give the symptoms
you have stated. If this is the case then the only real remedy is to vac out and flush the system and fit a new filter dryer and regas. That is provided the compressor is ok, but I would have thought that your friend would have suggested this.

ModeratorRe: UKW CHARTER (amendments)
These are a set of rules not suggestions, can we just state a six months minimum for now and change it at some future date, if needs be as we’re gettin bogged down on this one.

ModeratorRe: Retail
We have a forum called retail corner, perhaps you guys could make some enquies round the site about who sells and why others dont and help to throw some idea’s around.
Poor old don has been trying to develope the retail corner forum on his jack with out much support so why not lend him a hand and lets get all the lads sellin and lookin for the best deals in the retail corner forum.
Try and get the message across that you dont have to have a shop to sell
a machine. We are the first people to know that the customer needs a replacement so why has it always got to be the shed’s that capitalise on that fact. When we have already got our foot through the door.Just a thought

We are simply stating that it is a minimum 6 month guarantee if the guys give 12 then fine.
The point is do we come under the sale of goods act as repairers and does it actually state 12months guarantee ?
As has already been stated nothing is set in stone and this can be reviewed at any time in the future by the A.C.
So i suggest we compromise on the six months for now with the stated exceptions and deal with it again if it becomes a problem.
What say ye?

might it not be better to set it at six months minimum now, as some people have already agreed to a twelve month guarantte that have signed up for repairs @. We cant be seen to be driven by the lowest common denominator

Hi Bob
Under your account for the van there should be an account called ‘interest’, there should also be a sub account for any finance charge, if not, set one up as a subaccount of interest and use that account to track it.

Just to clarify things a little, any amended draft i have posted so far is just that a draft, i am only trying to do a running update to include the changes that councillors have deemed neccessary and agreed so far.
If i have missed any thing on any of the amended drafts just let me know and then we can change or re word them. Nothing thus far is set in stone.
But time is starting to get short now and we will all have to rattify the final draft before Alex gets to work on the power point presentation and so that we can present it at Sibson.
We’re not that far off now lads, so one final push should get it squared away.
You can bet your life that there will be one or two questions fired at us about sanctions at the meeting and we hav’nt given that as much discussion as it needs yet, so dont think that the Charter is all thats left to do.
