ModeratorRe: Bosch SGS 6312GB/07 Pumping continually
Sounds like the base has water in it so the antiflood device has kicked in
where it just pumps out all the time.Pull the plug out and draw the machine forward and caefully tilt the machine backwards to an angle of about 45 degrees and see if water comes out of the back of the machine.
I should put some towels down just in case.

ModeratorRe: What do you love about this job ?
We can all become a little disillusioned at times when we have a bad day. The pluses in the job can sometimes get forgotten. I left school and went straight into an apprenticeship with the Midlands electricity board as an electrician. I stayed with them for fourteen years but always had a hankering to live somewhere a bit cleaner and greener. So moved to Anglesey N. Wales 1983 couldnβt get a sparking job at the time
So retrained with a local firm who had most of the main agencies boxed off . That was back in the days when manufacturers actually did quality training for their agents.
Then met my next boss on a neff training course. Eventually decided to paddle my own canoe sixteen years ago and set out on my own.The people I have met since I moved up here from noble lords to little old dears struggling by on a pension. The stories I have been told and witnessed of lives, loves, tragedies, farces, hopes, dreams,
Endurance, inspiration, fortitudeβ¦β¦.. the list is endless, have at times held me spellbound to the point where I have worked on a lot later than I should have done. The scenery and localities I drive through from job to job of ever changing seascapes majestic mountains, small rugged villages complete with old boys who now everybody in the village (including the only gay !) like welsh versions of characters straight out of last of the summer wine.
So for me its not so much the job as the freedom, characters, landscapes, adventures, and challenges That I get to experience each new day. All of which I never experienced as an electrician back in the midlands.
As for UKW what can I say other than the fact that most problems are usually only a mouse click away from being solved and the camaraderie and support generated by the members of this community is quite simply phenomenal. π

ModeratorRe: Floorcare ?
We all have to grow up sometime, some people only learn how to be responsible when they have responsibilites. Perhaps if you gave him a bell ken, sussed him out a little and put it to him.
You could tell him that we’re lookin for some one mature enough to run a new forum and what you expect from that person. Perhaps a new handle
and avatar FOR THAT JOB might be a good start. Let’s face it he would’nt be the first one with two, now would he πSean

ModeratorRe: Floorcare ?
do we have any guys who specialise in foorcare that you know of.
I was talkin to dave only the other day about putin a service pack together of:-pkt of bags, filter and a free belt (pattern of course) for the most popular makes and models of vac. should shift a few of those.
Another idea was to contact that firm that me and john mac got our ukw polo shirts from and sell them from the shop to all our gratefull punters that we’ve given free advice to.
some folks are decent enough to buy one i’m sure as we’ve saved e’m the cost of a call. so a tee shirt or polo shirt are small recompense dont ya think. We tell e’m it helps to support the site and keep the information
on tap for e’mwe could use the unused public forum banners
untill we found a sponser. might as well put e’m to some use, and we would be able to tell prospective advertisers how successfull the banners are πWhat do you think

ModeratorRe: Site progress – the real story!
I’m sure there is a way to make this work we have enough good minds in the war room to find a way.
The whole success of the site has been the interest it has generated with both the trade and the public alike.
We have to come up with ideas to hold and maintain that interest. The knock on advantages are tremendous with the additional chargeable work we can help generate and bring to the membership.
We have to keep showing joe public that there is a far better alternative to manufacturer or insurance supplied servicing.
I take Martins point that the interest generated will attract spammers but we have to deal with them now as best we can anyway. The only way to stop them compleatly is to close the site.
