The energy rules on labelling was changed about a year ago supposedly to encourage manufacturers to continue to strive for the coveted A rating.

You have the usual Miele 2 year warranty as well.

I have just seen the following on the outlet store, it seems the products could be either unboxed or refurbished. From your comments it makes me wonder………;)

    ” The Miele Outlet

The only Miele Outlet Store in the UK based at our headquarters in Abingdon, Oxfordshire offers you the opportunity to own an unboxed or refurbished Miele appliance at a reduced price.

The Outlet has products on sale from all categories and all ranges, however it is extremely popular, and stock can sell very quickly so we operate on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Our online stock list is updated daily, however we cannot guarantee that the items listed online will be available when you arrive.

All products have been inspected and tested by qualified Miele technicians and come with a 2 year warranty”.

I would be on to them on Tuesday 😉

Selling a business can be a bit tricky, especially if you’re a one-man operation. Have you considered hiring a broker to help you find potential buyers?

Well it’s been four years since the original poster offered his business for sale. He is now probably sat at home with his feet up having a nice rest.

I doubt very much anyone swill have one as the brand ceased trading back in 2010.

A historic link here will fill in the gaps

Depends on your bufget, if you can stretch to a Miele then do it. Miele sadly has restricted service outlets and the parts are more expensive but it’ still the best constructed and designed machine out there.

Failing that in order of preference Bosch or Siemens then AEG followed by Beko.

The best guaranteed machine is the Ebac range with a seven year one. Little is known about them as they are still on restriced sale mainly in the North. It’s a British made machine and easy to repair by all accounts.

The only washer dryer out there that does what it say it does is the Miele range however you would need to add another £800 odd to your budget. Coming down the Bosch range are not bad. Look at John Lewis as they often give an extra year warranty on most of their products.

Machines around the £500 area are still not great. Two seperate machines are the way to go if you can even if it’s a compact dryer for space issues. The longest washing machine warranty currently is seven years on the Ebac machines.

Looking at page 21 of the instructions it appears that as it’s a quick wash and dry for 1.0kg of synthetics which only takes an hour the machine is indeed preset to 40 degrees etc.

Google lists 661A Connect shows 661 but not A.

Buyspares lists a LPR661 here may be worth giving them a ring just to check they are one and the same.

I have in the past taken the Miele part number and had a Google. Sometimes it does work, the part number is usually printed on the part itself.

in reply to: Child lock stuck Beko #486205

It does have a child lock. Page 14 in the instructions says “5.8 Child Lock The drying machine has a child lock which prevents the programme flow from being interrupted when the buttons are pressed during a programme. When the child lock is activated, all buttons on the panel except the On/Off/Programme selection knob are deactivated. Press the End Time and Buzzer buttons simultaneously for 3 buttons to activate the child lock. The child lock has to be deactivated to be able to start a new programme after the current programme is finished or to be able to interfere with the programme. To deactivate the child lock, keep the same buttons pressed for 3 seconds”

Hope this helps solve the problem

We have the same style machines over here in the 15kg Whirpool and Maytag brands, because of the physical size of them most UK kitchens are not big enough to take them. They are usually installed into some medium bed and breakfasts, hotels and pubs etc.

What people like is the quick 20 min cycle wash, which is achieved as they have no heater, also the waste needs to be bigger as it’s a large volume pumped out.

(Meanwhile, I was looking at Andyjawa’s Ebac machine. Expensive, but nice! No welded tub, parts I can identify, 7 year warranty. I just don’t understand the difference between ‘cold’ and ‘hot’ fill. What do you think of them???)

It’s all about energy efficiency and achieving A +++ rated machines this article is a good start. There is more here in our washing machine advice section.
