ModeratorSounds like both were working on the same supply, possibly “piggy back” together no doubt. Electrician required to sort into two supplies with proper isolators.

ModeratorHi
All Ice King products come with a two year warranty as standard. Details here could save you a few pounds 🙂

ModeratorYou need to look at the Models from this link to start with. Personally I would go with 7 or max an 8kg machine for family use. The higher the price the more bells and whistles you get, the basic core of the machine is still the same. Miele appliances are designed, built and tested to last approx 20 years. Take a look also at any machine that has a five year warranty it may be advantageous link here for further info.

ModeratorHi
Your IP address suggests you are posting from Ireland which is why I didn’t recognise the model numbers.
Your enquiry is easily answered 😉
Miele are the best you can get in the ordinary domestic sector. The products are made of the best components produced by themselves nothing bought in. They have been making washing machines since 1899 so they know a thing or two. Yes they are more expensive to buy and yes the parts are more expensive and yes only Miele service service agents have access to tech info. The service is one of the best in the industry, spares are readily available and you can speak to them easily.
LG are known for producing gimmicky products in order to sell appliances, the spares are very patchy at best in getting to the UK which are mainly shipped from Korea. Service is usually provided through third party agents and the product build quality is not the best.
If you want a well engineered machine which will do what it says then the Miele is the only one.
Moved you to Buying advice.

ModeratorIf you are going to use it once or twice a time a week I would probably take a chance as the spares are relatively cheap, if over this I would probably insure it. Just remember not to overload it as IIRC you went for a 10kg washing machine.

ModeratorHi
Liebherr are the best you can buy whether it be frost free or not, they also produce Miele refrigeration. Beko at the budget end is about the best in their price range. Which models were you considering?

ModeratorThe market isn’t big enough in the UK to have dedicated suppliers. Most distributors like Pik a Pak, DAD Portway etc usually stock one or two during the summer months but that’s about it. Unless anyone else knows better 😉

ModeratorDate range is May 2005 to December 2005 with the polyinox base. The equivalent range now is the series 2. Energy efficiencies are now much better, improved fascia and flexibility in baskets.
There have been some issues with the polyinox base in recent years with leaking however this seems to have improved recently. In the big scheme of things they are no better than most out there.

but as you say little or no stockDave
Word on the street from our manufacturers is anything Hotpoint, Indesit and Whirlpool not until May, Bosch end April, Statesman May, Beko no due date and Liebherr stock very patchy.

ModeratorWhile V Zug are renowned to be the best at what they do there is very little volume here in the UK. As far as we are aware they make all of their own product. There is a little more info here Miele is still the best out there for the majority of UK users.
