Don’t know if it helps but page 19 of the instructions here may shed a little light on the explanation of that symbol.

When you say the “seller” was this a retailer? As this is now discontinued was it sold as new?

Problem is the bigger drum has to go somewhere which is why washing machines and washer dryers are deeper. If it’s a height problem the lid can be removed on some brands and a height reduction lid fitted. Widths havn’t changed much they should still fit in a 60cm wide space.

As for your timing query the best ones I know of are the Bosch and Whirlpool machines for 60 minute cycles. A lot of research will be required by studying the manuals.

The instructions are really only a guide and as as Dave said it’s all about “variables.” Problem nowadays is that consumers are wanting much greener appliances which leads to your issue. Sadly you can’t have the best of both worlds.

We have an almost 10 year old freestanding SMS69L222 which by looks of it has a similar size display. It’s never given any trouble, as you say with a five year warranty you should be okay.

Which magazine do test appliances, however there are still many variables like soiling, loading and wash cycle selected. I always say to customers that it does give you a guide overall but it’s not definitive in any way.

When it comes to testing models they are usually a good 18 months behind as they also test other categories along the way.

Looking at the Bosch site here I personally would stop at series 6 unless you want all the bells and whistles, It’s a good all round range. You can compare models via the compare button which should help you make a decision.

While I appreciate LPG is a must in certain geographical areas of the UK the proportion of market is very very small which is why most manufacturers produce natural gas appliances with the add on of LPG jets.

The gas cooker market has shrunk considerably over the last twenty years or so due to electric induction cooking being very energy efficient. It is thought that in the next ten years or so gas products will have all but disappeared. You only have to look at people like Hotpoint and Indesit their gas cooker range is a good 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} smaller now than it was ten years ago.

Having read you original post at and not having had any knowledge of Thetford I looked at their website here they are a worldwide company dealing in kit for RV’s and caravans. As a result of my findings I added the rider “at whitegoods we deal in standard household appliances” especially as you preferred a 12V ignition. This led me to believe you were in this market of which we have little knowledge of.

The online companies have the resources to stock so many lines and options this is the best place to start looking.

At UK Whitegoods we deal in standard household appliances.

Thetford is a camping and caravanning supplier who among other things supply a range of cookers. They are heavily based in the USA but have a small representation in Europe. I guess this is why you are looking for 12V ignition.

Most if not all Hotpoint and Indesit gas cookers either come with LPG jets or can be obtained through them free of charge. You will need an LPG gas registered engineer to fit these.

I prefer the idea of a separate forum with each manufacturer having a single thread. That way it makes it easier for Joe public to navigate to correct brand at least.

What was your date of purchase? That FD number indicates production month of December 2021 . All Bosch appliances come with a two year warranty. I would still complain even if it’s only just out of warranty.

Fixed price repair by Zanussi, no more than £149. The repair ( not the whole machine!!) will also have some form of guarantee as well.
