Re: Using Laptops in the field

I carry one all the time, mainly for pricing info. Its better to quote an exact price at the time of the visit rather than the “ill phone you this evening with the price” way, by which time customer has thought about it, talked to neigbour and bought a Indesti for £150. I would also use it for invoicing if I could find a reliable way of printing out the customer copy. As it is I hand write reciepts and then input it into the pc when i get home…all a bit time consuming and the hand scrawled reciepts unproffessional IMO.
As for the SMEG diagnosis system……certainly not worth the efort of carrying a laptop as yet as many would have seen at the last meeting how awkward it is to set up.
What Ken says is true though, Laptops are not up to the job of carrying around unless its in a seperate case and then thats just another thing to carry around.
A usefull tool right now but not yet an essential item.

If you can here the main pump motor running but no water coming out of the arms then, assuming it has filled with the corect amount of water, it may be the impellor broken inside the pump. Does happen sometimes. quite a major repair, would recommend proffesional intervention.

Well I got a UKW recommended engineer out and it turns out there was something wrong with the soap dispenser. I don’t know what was wrong with it as I was at work at the time but ‘dispenser coil’ seems the likely culprit. Why this would cause said problem I don’t know. Anyone know why?

So I’m the happy owner of a new soap dispenser and working dishwasher.

Hope this helps someone in the future.

Glad we could be of service and thanks for the call.

Pretty sure that one will fit on the lip of the bottom “tray” of the dishwasher rather than the door. The kit I had came complete with the clips, maybe this one doesn’t need them. You need to remove the outer door panel to access this. Power off and watch out for sharp edges.

Seamy wrote:My opinion would be that we should be looking at providing machines at the “average” price scale. eg £300-£350. The amount of customers out there prepared to shell out an extra £500 for a machine is very small. I’ve been trying to flog Miele machines for years on there build quality, quarantee etc but most customers don’t wanna cough up that kinda money even with 10 year guarantee.

Maybe you are in a different area but all I know is that Miele’s are flying out of our local indie shop, all of them £500+ and many of them from my customers who are fed up with replacing machines every 3 years. Yes, an 800 quid machine is not going to be an easy sell by any means and will never be a high volume seller and ISE already have a machine in the lower price bracket anyway.

Re: replacing the bottom door seal on an ariston LS1024

Dont know for certain on that one but the later Aristons have the seal crimped onto the bottom of the inner door panel and is not replacable. They supply a different seal and 3 clips. This seal fits on the lip of the lower inside cavity instead of on the door and is retained by the 3 clips, hence it appears competely different to the old one.

Sounds like it could be the dispenser coil has gone down. Sounds funny i know but a common failure on those machines.
