Parts shouldnt be a problem, let us know what you need as and when. Can also send a service manual but will need the correct model number off the rating plate, usualy hidden on the drum front plate above the door, behind the control panel. (that will make a lot more sense when you see the machine in the flesh!)

I have read ERT for what seems most of my life and never once subscribed! every year or so you get a subscribe or miss out type warning letter, which I ignore and maybe miss a few copies then the trial subscription starts over again and hey 20 years has passed that way. Infact, they are still going to my old address as well so I get 2.

Goose, is there a manufacturers part number on the part? Most of those Belling used to be Brandt, but the nearest they get to a ‘heater box’ type is pn31X9415 which is a regular failure.

The format of ERT is too big for my scanner, the article takes pretty much a whole page. I have sent ken a scan of what I could, probably not good enough for posting though.

Re: Electra AWM 1100B drum bearing replacement?
The bearing you are looking at is in fact the rear of 2 bearings, the other one is probably even more shot to pieces.
In short, the backplate and inner drum needs to be removed. Its a major job, but easier than on some machines. If the bearing is broken up badly you may also need the backplate itself. Ensure it is disconnected from the mains electricity before touching anything.
