I really must express my deepest concern over this statement, VDGG could never be described as a great band by any stretch of the imagination.

Re: Another Indesit timer clicking round

    W143uk nightmare.
    here is another one,
customer reported knob going around and leak, leak turned out to be the narrow “detergent recovery hose” which is the small hose from the pump to the tub having become holed in a little extension moulding near the pump. ( I beleive there is a model with some sort of sensor in this housing, god knows what for}, but this one didnt have that so the sensor moulding is capped. whatever it pee’d water on the pump which seemed to have done the module in, although there are no visible signs of this. I slaved on a new pump but still it wouldnt re set and pumped and filled at the same time while the timer knob just rotatad.
I looked up this model on partfinder only to discover no less than 3 alteranative modules! with no indication to tell which is which. Using the numbers off the module and wash vac I located the “correct one” and orderd from GDA along with the W143 eeprom, pump and hose. God knows why the customer still wanted this job as we are now over 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of a new machine cost.
Module arrived, I called today fitted the hose, pump, eeprommed up the module and guess what, it didnt fit! in no way could the module plugs be fitted. All the sockets were in differrent places and even using the plug numbers it couldnt be fitted. So back to square one and amazingly the customer still wants to go ahead.
I have to question why Merloni design such a machine to use a common module with just a differring eeprom for the alternative modules (itself not a bad idea, just think one module fits the whole range, great) and then introduce 2 alternative modules with no known means of identifying them?
Glad I got that off my chest.

Not wanting to join in the “old codgers club” here, but that picture of the Colston washer drier did evoke some horrid nightmares of water pouring through what was basicly a fan heater buit into the door. In fact any Colston Ariston washer driers were nightmare material, they used to put the blower motor in all sorts of weird and vunerable places, oh god I am gonna get sick at thought…

There is a modified pressure system/sump hose, p/n 1604035 which may be the problem, other than that are you sure its not just a OOB load? They are pretty sensitive to such things.

Thanks Martin, I now have Dale Jarrett saving a loose moment. OK he is a Ford driver but you could have really upset me and used Jeff Gordon!
It seems I may be the one to blame for starting these personalised Avatars here in the first place and my original one prompted loads of questions so if anyone is interested in seeing the full version, it is here:

and from May, the first Sunday in every month the Days of Thunder series will be at Rockingham, Corby. But not this car, did anyone really think I could get sponsorship money out of Servis UK? (or UKwhitegoods! look on the front face of the rear spoiler)

You Have to charge for the second appliance otherwise all those old busted spindriers, microwaves and creda 75 tumble driers get dragged out of the garage for you.

Yeah good point about the aquisitions, although it was Bennetton rather than Prost in this case and I forgot all about the C5 senario. Was anyone on this forum roped into the Sinclair C5 servicing? Must be some great stories out there if so.
As for the IRL the after the last race I was soaked in sweat but not sure if it was just he excitment of the race or that a major accident was about to occurr such as Kenny Bracks last year, kind of puts me off watching it live when something like that happens, Infact, i turned to NASCAR after witnessing Gregg Moores death at Fontana and swore never to watch live open wheel races on Ovals again after that…….but its on so I cannot resist it sometimes.
I just remembered also that Rory Bryne was the Toleman designer now of Ferrari.

    Re: Liverpool

Although Candys sponsorship was less than succesful, you must remember that one Ayrton da Silva (later Senna) started his F1 carreer with them and the Toleman teams facilities make the Minardi team now look like state of the art, and their engine was knocked together in Harlow by Brian Hart, one of my customers then who I tried to sell a Candy turbomatic too but he turned his nose up and went for an AEG2050 Turbo instead. Not only that, but the current Renault F1 team is infact evolved from the Toleman team. Shame Candy didnt evolve in the same way really.
and all you lot bored of F1, watch the next IRL race on sky sports….

    Re: Liverpool

Candys greatest feat with sponsorship was of course the Toleman or Tyrell F1 team (they sponsored both at times and I cannot recall which one it was on this occasion) at the Monaco Grand Prix when at the first corner one of their 2 cars was catapulted into the air, overtaking about 10 cars while being airbourne and landed right on top of the second Candy car putting them both out on the spot and right infornt of the Hotel suite full of Candy corporate guests.

Cliff, there is a little chip called an Eprom on your old pcb, You need to either remove it and fit it to the new one (if it is the plug in type one that is) or you should have ordered one with the pcb.
