Re: Does anyone check wall sockets?

Yeah, being asked to call customers either on mobiles or at work is becoming a regular trend. In one way it is good as we can be more flexible on appointment times, on the other hand they have always “just popped out of the office” or mobiled offed just when we call leaving an engineer high and dry. It is, however something we have had to accomodate to attract the chargeable work we need.

Yeah, but clocks in general are a lot of money. I have seen far more expensive clocks on far cheaper cookers. Once again I say that SMEG spares some of the best value when compared to the retail price of the product.

Yep, we too have been inundated with ceramic hob rings not working (and dishwashers not cleaning), funny that, all of a sudden this week isnt it. its ONLY XMAS FOR GODS SAKE, probably no more cooking to be done than a usual Sunday Roast. Why the panic!
On this note, if you need any rings for a Belling cooker and the part number starts with a BA….. try the part number without the BA as a Creda/Hotpoint number. It will be about half the price.

    Re: Bosch diswasher showing “F”

Yeah, but this dishwasher type has been around for 6 odd years now and, apart from re soldering the heater relay and changing the outer casing of the module, I have never had a failure before… till last week when we had this one (showing F) and a completely dead one.
I sent the dead one to QER but it was returned unable to repair…something that has happenned all to regularly lately which causes a delay it getting back to the customer as we then have to order a new one. I am not sure I will send them any anymore, its just a waste of time and postage costs.
anyone one else finding this with QER or is it just bad run of luck fo me?

I gotta add my own beko story here, does anyone remember that odd looking washing machine Beko touted around the shows a couple of years back? it was some design study of a beltless drive effort. A close colegue of mine who had a stand at the Birmingham show that year said he saw it in the skip at the end of the show!

Given that EAC seem to be mutli tasking (there was an earlier post regarding them taking on CAREMARK work) and that they have near national coverage, isnt there a danger that they could take any potential Network DASA work given that they are members?
Why would a manufacturer want to use a collection of independents when there is already set up organisation such as EAC part of the network?

    Re: Most ridiculous part price

Servis crap cooker fan element part number 524011900 back in June this was £75.97. Trade (ie the price I had to pay, so with a 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} mark up and a labour charge of say £40 that makes a total repair inc vat of £158.58! compare this to a gen smeg element which at the last count I was paying £** for.)
I think Servis could win this battle hands down, when the retail price is taken into account.
