Mike.thanks but I know where the explodeds are……..ordered 2 very expensive rings for it! Short of levering against the (obsolete) glass I can find no way to remove the base. Non standard size hob, customer only recently had new kitchen and work top cut to suit old hob.

ModeratorRe: smeg ceramic hob
part number was 762810749 but this fault normally occured after the hob has got hot so you cannot turn the heat or anything off without shutting the power off from the wall, if yours is a bad contact even when cold it may not do the trick, the touch panel is easily removed from underneath I would have a good clean of the underside of the glass and ensure a good contact between the pads and the the glass.

ModeratorRe: smeg ceramic hob
there was a mod for some of these which involved spacers under the control unit pushing it harder into the glass and making it less likely to flex and droop down when hot. Model number will be on the bottom where they are on all hobs. someone removed it maybe?

was when I had finished with it!
surpisingly hood functions still worked…….but turntable going around constantly was not a good sign, so I pulled the leads to the microwave.

suppose I should describe the fault seeing as we have a couple of “experts” here. shut door and light and turntable come on before even setting any time or power settings, turntabe will run until plug is pulled. Did have similar symtoms on panasonic microwaves before with door switch shorted out, would have checked the door switch if only I could get into the damn thing.

yes! and then they made me put the damn thing back again to cover the unsightly gash it left.
and chezza, never mind the worktop, its the induction hob beneath that worries me!.eastlmark
ModeratorRe: whirlpool AVM965/1x microwave/ cooker hood combo…….
next time I go on one I must remember to take a can opener…after 150 screws removed I still found myself peering under bent up bits of sheet metal, covered in grease and still no further near finding the fault, fuming I am!

ModeratorRe: siemens dishwasher heater chamber
yes, had a few leaking recently. the whole top cavity is removable from the base, just a matter of undoing screws, & door off etc. someone did a thread about it once if you try and search for it (search for Bosch rather than siemens).
