On thing I have found out though from all this is that YP no longer do FREE entries. They stopped that this year as they are not obliged to list all similar businesses that don’t wish to advertise with them. Currently Thomson still do but YP have pulled the plug on that one! 😯

pretty sure the free entries are now all listed at the back in directory form.
I too have renewed, scaled down a bit and surpised the cost of the advert is more this year than last even though the advert is smaller….its all to do with column size rather than physical size (ooh matron). could never afford this one up front, have to pay monthly-always have and at least I have a bit of leverage if they mess the advert up. Not convinced by Yell, I am sure the reps laptop is spiked to show the results they want to show as I tried the same search on my pc and got different results.

    Re: seized/broken isolation valves

worse one I had was when just turning a valve off, the red lever thing popped out along the the stem its atatched to, leaving my finger to plug the hole it left… So there I am, head in cupboard shouting like crazy for the customer (how come they are never around when you want them to be?) to come and help. Hot water too so stop cock didnt stop the flow, she had to call her son home from work to go up in the loft to turn the valve from the tank off….great afternoon that! and yes I got blamed for the whole sorry affair yet I was only playing safe as the hoses looked a bit short and i suspected they may have broken had i attempted to pull the machine out.
Thank god for cold fill only, at least there is one less of these pesky things to worry about.

frozen up evaproator in Freezer at a guess. take the cover off inside the freezer and have a look. sensors not replaceable on this one so test the heater and thermal fuse, if they are ok then it will be pcb. early ones are fitted to rear, later ones are in the top panel. both will need the smart card reader to programme, if the pcb is in the top it will also need the 2007 low end adaptor to programme it.

could be worth a shot at defrosting it and see how it goes.

if it is not frozen up then check the baffle in the fridge, could be jammed.

beware, there are 2 versions of this board, one has the mains in terminals connected to it while the other type doesnt have the tags for them at the bottom. the one with the tags is 72×0267

    Re: Yellow Pages 2011

I have defended Yellow pages before and will have to again, 3 out of every 5 new customer pic ups say they got our details from there…….whats more, others who have used us before but lost details used yellow pages as a look up guide to find our number without knowing our name, I guess the logo or something in the ad must jog memories and this is despite reducing spend by 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} with them over the past 5 years, would have rduced more if it were not for the need to go into other area books and some new classifications. I dont think the huge, flashy adverts work as, as others have said, its mainly the older folks who use it and they like to something they recognise or looks reliable and honest.
I have the rep coming on Tuesday morning and will see what he has to offer. I have not yet seen a new style book so cannot comment on that yet.

it means you need to call an engineer with a big spanner in his hand. Just a maintence symbol, no test prog AFAIK,

    Re: WHIRLPOOL 20RB-D3L

the baffle has a microswitch inside which sends a signal back to the board.
if this signal is not recieved then the diffuser will continously run. Normally it is the baffle but I guess it could be the pcb. Early versions suffered from ice up of the baffle and a mod kit was issued to prevent the problem, for smeg models at least. If the housing in the fridge stretches half way across the back of the fridge then it is the later version, if the housing is only in the corner then it is the earlier type.

usually a no drain fault, or any fault if it clicks around to the spanner symbol, air bell, carbons, heater, blocked filter… take your pick really.

no, unfortunatly! Its not anything I recognise. we have been told to contact someone called Xserve but its all very unproffesional “Ill get my husband to call you after lunch” sort of thing so its a dead end right now.

pretty sure they are just talking about replicating the action of the door hook. It eliminates door hook spring problems and loose pins etc.
