Re: Liebherrr KlPe 1740 fridge out of control

two small panels either side of the display panel come off, revealing two t15 torx screws holding the facia on.
unscrewing these will allow the facia to be puller forwards, revealing the thermostat and its connections.
the thermostat capillary tube locates into a plastic sleeve that runs along the top of the fridge and down inside, terminating at the foot of the evaporator plate.
you’ll have to replace the connections, like for like and then push the capillary tube firmly down the sleeving until it comes to rest at the bottom of the evaporator. replace all as you found it and then job done.
obviously make sure that the power is off. if you’re not confident with this work then call someone out. it should take 10 mins max, but please don’t call a plumber!!

    a local plumber??
    dear me.
with all due respect it’s not exactly a plumbers job.
to change the thermostat on this model is not the most challenging of jobs, but I still wouldn’t trust it to a plumber, more to someone who is used to dealing with these appliances on a regular basis.
    where are you based?
where have you looked for the part?
happy new year to you too!

hi dave, sorry for not replying earlier.
your fridge is controlled by a thermostat, which has failed. activating supercool just bypasses the thermostat and puts a live down to the compressor to make it run, to achieve 2c. this will switch itself off after a while, which is why the unit reverts back to 8 or 9c.
    F0 indicates this too.
you need a new thermostat, part number 6151028.

    cheers.

Hi dave, can you get me the service number? It’s on the white rating plate on the left hand side, at the bottom.

Seriously though, Malky must be laughing his head off all the way to the bank right now.
His job or position, had become untenable, for whatever reason. Who knows what has gone on there?
So, he’s come out of this smelling of roses, he’ll find himself in another good job surely sooner than later. His stock is sky high at the minute and, if tales are to be believed, he’ll be around. 2 mil better off! Nice work.

I’ve heard that Phil Brown is the new favourite for the Cardiff job. He has experience with working with a crazy tan.

    Re: Football Season 2013/14

A bit quiet on here over the festive period and in the interests of balance I have to report that I traipsed ( is that a word?) up to Middlesbrough on Boxing Day to see the clarets perform poorly and come away with no points after a 1-0 reverse.
The thin squad is being stretched beyond its limits and if no bodies are added in the upcoming transfer window, then our promotion challenge will surely falter.
United continue onwards and upwards, while City and Liverpool served up a treat.

it could be as described by seamy, or it could just be that, having had the door left open for days on end, that a 24hr defrost wasn’t sufficient.
id turn it off again, leave the door open and leave off for 48hrs to ensure that the huge build up of ice that would have inevitably have occurred with the door open in the first place, has fully defrosted, before turning back on again.

Liverpool did look awesome and scored some tremendous goals.
The clarets ground out a draw at Leicester to remain in contention at the top end of the championship. QPR should win the division easily with their squad and derby are revitalised under Steve mclaren.

Masterfix have been around for years, although not always as work providers.
David and Simon. They’re a good bunch. We do a bit for them with no issues at all.

Re: Liebherr fridge not cold enough

im not sure about sensor mate. id be looking at the system probably. sensor faults are much more common than system faults, granted, but im not sure here.
have you taken the reading of the sensor?
    what’s the ambient temp like?
this is a fairly simple fridge, so I’d be having a good look at all the symptoms and then trying to separate the fault from system or control.
another point, I’d always have the fan running on this type of fridge, for a more evenly distributed temperature.
if the fan isn’t running then due to the fact that its a big cabinet, it will be colder at the bottom and the back of the cabinet and warmer at the top and the front.
how are you taking the temp?
